Rock Band Weekly: Best of The Who

Jul 15th 2008 5:24PM (Joystiq)
Except that the live (and cut) version has the finish of the concert.
And quite honestly, I almost crashed my Fender on the floor at the end.... till I realized I was wielding a plastic instrument in my underwear.
Yeah, that was a harsh return to reality.

Oh, and I must mention it: "Who the hell are you?!"... Yeah, throm me off the notes a second.

Rock Band 2 details: wireless instruments, playlists, drum trainer

All instruments are cross-compatible (RB1->RB2, RB2->RB1), all DLC also.

For RB1 disc tracks on HDD, I had an idea, EA-style: you can rip those from your RB1 disc (30MB * 58 tracks = 1.8GB, more or less), and every x days, you'll have to pop in the RB1 disc to prove you still have the game.
It's a quick check, but it makes sure that the person still has RB1 after ripping the songs.

Oh, yes, forgot to mention: GMA950 are go on Windows, no-go on OS X.

Spore's system requirements

So, according to the website, the game will run on my Mac mini, but only if I boot it under XP...
I knew there was a reason to install Boot Camp on it. ;)

Activision CEO introduces Guitar Hero World Tour

I'm pretty sure you won't be able to add AC/DC, Led Zep and others (otherwise, imagine the field day the RIAA will have with this game. "UNLICENSED COVERS").

I'm more than prudent with the "Create-a-song" feature. User-created content is not always the way. How many YouTube videos are genuinely funny or impressive, when 99.99% of them are completely stupid?

Oh, and PS: lady, you win the Internet with "It's called Rock Band, I think". Wouldn't be surprised to see a shirt with this sentence on it.

Rock Band European DLC now on XBLM

May 20th 2008 6:18PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Well, at least all the 119 tracks are on the European Xbox Marketplace.
I already downloaded my "unmissable" ones (Still Alive, Joker & the Thief, Buddy Holly and the pack Message in a Bottle/Call Me/Simple Man).

Since the Euros are not in here, I can only suppose they will be already on the disc.

Grand Theft Auto IV impressions: A fistful of firsts (Xbox 360)

First "hahahaha" moment? Famous british comedian on TV.
Second one? Calling 911, report a fake fire, and then steal the firetruck. Oh, and hosing down people. ;)

Rumor: New tracks with Europe's Rock Band

Mar 17th 2008 4:43PM (Joystiq)
Tokio Hotel, Pleymo (yes, it's written like that): BAD. Really, really BAD.
Blur, Oasis, and the German songs: OK.
Les Wampas: meh, could be fun for the singer.
Muse: HELL YEAH.
Indochine: ... OK, this is the French Party Song. The one everybody knows by heart, the one you will sing if you're drunk. This is a TOTAL winner (for the French fans. For the other countries, it's just a lame 80s song, sorry about that).

The IMDb Mobile is now on my frontscreen.
You should add links for quotes/trivia, it would be perfect.

GDC08: Still Alive coming to Rock Band

Feb 21st 2008 6:53PM (Joystiq)
Also, there is bass. Very simple, but nonetheless.
And this song... Rock Band wins. Don't know what, but it wins it. Hard.
