GP2x sells 30,000 units

Oct 15th 2006 6:41PM (Joystiq)
I know a few people who have these and all of them got there GP2Xs from Korea instead of waiting..

Good question: why doesn't the Xbox 360 have its own browser?

Oct 15th 2006 11:47AM (Joystiq)
There's no browser on the 360 because 95% of 360 owners have a PC....so why waste money developing a browser just to please 5%..it's all about money

also the Wii has a browser because it wants to appeal to a wider audience....in the UK millions still use teletext for weather, news, holidays...now if they have a choice to do it on the Internet without the fear of spyware, virus and have something for the kids/grankids to play with they will jump on it

and the PS3 has one because it wants to be everything to everyone

Wii Opera browser FREE worldwide until June 2007

Sep 27th 2006 7:37AM (Joystiq)
Well the browser could be good and bad for Nintendo and Wii users.

Good, there are thousands of games available in flash (hopefully the Wii will have a decent amount of RAM), quick access to game guides, quick look at Joystiq for the best gaming news ;).....and probably more uses.

Bad, there are sites that have hundreds of Snes, Genesis and turbo graphics all in flash, which could lead to Nintendo disabling some features in the browser.
