They fixed it visually, but now the last 4 digits on the owner ID erase and just duplicate the 2nd to last pair of 4 digits, it still doesnt work.

Why the PS3's lack of backwards compatibility is upsetting [update 1]

Oct 6th 2007 4:13PM (Joystiq)
Joystiq, im pretty sure the GS is STILL on the 80gb versions, they are just EE-less. Can you site your own sources on either or?

40GB probably have neither components. I do believe they should add BC back in, and its editorials like this that will help make that change (like the lack of HDMI on 20GB before launch), but i think there is more to it then refusal. Its missing the GS thats allowing BC to work liek it is on the 60s and 80s.

But yes, they need to add BC to this 40gb model, and it NEEDs to exist in some way throughout its lifetime. The reason i love the PS brand is they believe my software should transcend the hardware.

the first slow motion scene with The King kicking major ass, especially the last kill where he slams a persian to the floor with his shield and stands there majestically.

Rumor: Killzone 2 demo before Halo 3 beta

Feb 6th 2007 1:11PM (Joystiq)
I beta tested killzone, and while it played well and had its highlights, no it wasn’t a halo killer. The magazines and press threw that title on the game.

With the company bought out, the team tripled, and the budget increased by who knows how much, they're going for gold with this game. Look at the GTA franchise, it didn’t hit big till 3, and the two previous were decently received. Will it kill Halo? Most likely not, the game will launch and people will love it for the same reasons they hated Resistance. (i heard a lot of Resistance sucks cause it doesn't have a cover system, Halo wont but you'll never hear it from them) Will it turn heads? If it reaches a point where it is comparable to the trailer shown, it’ll definitely show that the PS3 is the graphics powerhouse Sony has said it would be. To the average consumer, here’s Halo 3 at the EB Kiosk, and here’s Killzone at the same EB. If killzone can outmatch halo 3 graphically, it'll do a lot for PS3. Never mind the people who will reply “Bungie isn’t about graphics” that’s what’s making and breaking these consoles (except the wii, people are still blinded by the controls) on top of software.

Where's flOw?

Jan 18th 2007 4:16PM (Joystiq)
The reason flOw is taking so long is because theyre adding a lot to it that never existed in the flash game. On top of the company itself stating they are not using one line of code that was in the flash version, they made the game from scratch.

Can the PS3 be saved?

Jan 18th 2007 4:27AM (Joystiq)
there is a reason they arent rushing their games, because the instant they do and you get your hands on them, youll burn them to the ground once again.

Its a launch, a launch doesnt bring AAAAAAAAAA titles. Those come a year later and through the consoles lifecycle.

Can the PS3 be saved? Its really not doing AS bad as the gaming news reporters fad wants to report. They just launched, it doesn't need to be saved.
