I really like and use my PSP... I don't think the consoles dead at all, the developers seem to be. Sony did make a few mistakes, one nub, craptastic battery and the price was a little steep. But it is a solid console, has great potential, but sony never should have pushed UMD movies so hard. They focused to much on the multimedia, not the games.
If anything it shows just how stupid sony is, now don't call me a hater. I have a PS1 and PS2, both first gen. I got my PSP on day one. I saved up money since I heard that it was in development. When they showed the first Prototype.
Now I feel that sony just needs to refocus all the ads from this riskay crap. Racial steriotypes, stupid ads all that crap. They need to push games, and developers to their limits not push UMD movies...
They should have put more work into R&D, more system ram, internal storage(HDD), open sorce Bios that supported homebrew. The PSP had more potential than any handheld I have ever seen, but sony in their rush to make money; killed it. For now the PSP is crippled but it can come back. It just needs support from developers and an OS that supports homebrew.
I hope that they don't do it to the PS3. That would be a horrible thing to seem them F'Up.
All they really need to do is not suck. Release a good solid console, with a variaty of games, of high caliber. And avoid the kiddy, gimicky crap. Microsoft already messed up, 360 power supply is ill desinged. Amoung things. Big N has yet to show much, but they have one hell of a gimmick, or in other words a light gun. Sony has done little. They basicaly improved the PS2 exept the controller is a little weird. but looks very erganomic.
In my opinion, the PS3 seems to be the top dog agian, the 360 seems more like XB 1.5 and the revolution seems... not so revolutionary. I don't know wether the Revo will be on top, the PS3 or 360 but it looks like a repaet of last gen.
You here that? Its the sound of Nintendo fornicating there fanbase.
This reminds me of the GBA, first one was less then they claimed. Then the SP came out and had a backlight, something that the Original was supposed to have... And a higher price point and portibility factor... They did it with the GBC too, just no backlight.
This is why along with cruddy tittles that I gave up on Nintendo and went with Sony, which I might add they created out of stupidity. Long story, look it up if you don't know it.
Meh I always new they would do this the DS was clunky hanf cramping and looked like a 80's kids toy. This is what they needed to release first. Not this crap they keep spewing and calling hardware.
The best things they ever made were the Nes and SNES. The 64 was okay but lacked a good controller design and games were highly priced. The GC suffers from the same flaws, bad controller, bad marketing and bad games, save for a space few.
People call the PSP overpriced and under developed (game wise) but I am much more happy with this, and sonys other products then any nintendo product save for the Nes and Snes. Hell the PSP even has a good battery life, and I have yet to see one with a dead pixel...
Should we consider the PSP dead?
