While a tomato may technically be a fruit, the US Supreme Court declared it to be a vegetable in Nix v. Hedden, 149 U.S. 304 (1893). So, for legal purposes in the United States, a tomato is actually a vegetable.
I use Mail.app on my MacBook and iPhone for checking multiple (5) gmail accounts all the time. I don't agree with denying apps because they duplicate functionality, but you're wrong that Mail.app can't do it.
The best solution would be to incorporate a generator into the Wii Remote. Similar to the watches or flashlights that are powered by shaking them. The Wii Remote is certainly shaken enough to charge a battery, but I'm not sure how much a a draw the remote would require.
