Dead Block co-op trailer includes a surprisingly effective burger

Jul 6th 2011 10:00PM (Joystiq)
@DarkNightRJ

I was enjoying the demo and figured this would be a good buy when it hits DotW. I don't know if it will even be worth it then if you can't even play it online. Why would anyone make a game that is pretty much designed for coop and then not let you play it online?

If you have Xbox 360 they recently had a vote on the dashboard for an upcoming deal of the week. Mass Effect 2 DLC was one of the choices and the last time I checked it was winning.

WWE All Stars DLC schedule: DiBiase, Lawler, Big Boss Man on the way

I used to watch wrestling back when these guys were big. I can't say that I'm a fan of the game but I love the pricing. I wish other companies would release meaningful DLC for the equivalent of 80 points each.

XBLA in Brief: BackBreaker Vengeance, Galaga Legions DX

@Drew327

They have some similarities. Similar to Pac Man DX, they made Galaga Legions DX really easy, at least the first stage from the demo is. Time slows down when you are about to get hit so it seems like the challenge will be more about getting the highest score possible rather than trying to make it to the end of the level.

I really liked the demo. For me it is a lot more fun than the original.

I don't see why they didn't make this game and Half-Minute Hero part of Summer of Arcade. People seem to be more interested in those two than most of the games they did include.

No problems with the RSS feed using Google Reader. That is how I got here just now.

@Urchin80

I just used up my 8 minutes on the demo and it was pretty good. It definitely deserves more than the 3 stars it currently has. Many of the bad reviews are probably from people who haven't played it and based their decision entirely off of the games price or art style.

I'll be honest, I've never tried it before today because there was no chance that I was going to spend 400 points on it. I probably would have grabbed them at 80. I seem to recall some file size restrictions based on price though, so maybe that isn't even possible.

Anyway, I'd say this is one of the better indie games out there but it is handicapped by its price. For the same amount, a patient gamer could have Raskulls, A World of Keflings, Pac-Man, etc.

I didn't get one of those codes, but I will try out the demo for the newer one today. Some of these guys are being a little too harsh. I think the game would have been better received at a lower price though.

I check out the indie games daily. I've bought quite a few at 80 points, only one at 200 (it now costs 80), and I have never bought one for 400 or more. In fact, I rarely even try demos if they are 400 unless they look really good. It isn't that I can't afford 400 points, it's just that when you start comparing proper XBLA games (DOTW) for the same price, or other indie games for 1/5 of the price, it is hard to justify them.

@Colin

Clover gets brought up a lot on this site period. The reality is that it has around a 60% rating on the dashboard and costs about 5x more than most other indie games. Neither of those things will translate into stellar sales.

Limbo, Trials HD and Splosion Man coming to retail in XBLA triple pack [Update: It's coming on April 19!]

Mar 9th 2011 6:20PM (Joystiq)
@munkyman220

It is potentially more expensive f you have been keeping an eye on the sales. Off the top of my head the games have been on sale for:

Limbo- $10
Trials- $5
Splosion Man- $2

I still like the idea though because that means I will be able to rent the disc on Gamefly.
