Wii Warm Up: The price of fitness

Apr 16th 2008 11:24PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
That someone from 4cr was me. If anyone is interested in seeing my experiences with Wii Fit, go here:

It's official: Wii Fit priced at $90

Apr 15th 2008 10:58AM (Joystiq)
It worked for me. I lost 10 pounds with it in 7 weeks. But I will be the first to admit that it is not for everyone. If you are interested, you can read about my 7 weeks with Wii Fit here:

As for the price, I'm actually surprised by how inexpensive it is. The thing looks cheap in pictures, but in reality it is a very solid, weighty device. A good electronic scale with BMI tracking costs around $100 by itself. And the boards balance sensitivity is dead on. This is not a DDR pad, it's about 4 times as big as the Wii and about 5 times as heavy. Not some crappy piece of plastic that will break right away.

The game itself it also quite good, but if you just think of it as "the balance board+a free game" it is still a pretty good deal.

Mii wedding invitation is 'silly and lame,' also 'kind of cute'

Thanks guys. Yeah I designed them but it wasn't to save money. It actually would have been cheaper to use a pre-made card. These were professionally printed on high grade glossy paper (one of the reasons why the scan sucks) and have several full color interior pages. They actually look quite nice. A lot nicer than that picture shows.

Thanks. Actually my "testacles" are fine. But thank you for taking an interest in them.

Wii's Wario wary of widescreen

Jan 16th 2007 11:54AM (Joystiq)
I agree with DarkStar. I have been playing this game since launch on my Widescreen TV and never noticed anything unusual. All the ads for this game show it on widescreen TVs and the same with the demo kiosks. It dosn't look streached out to me. Then again since it has purpousely goofy graphics to begin with and I have only ever played it on a widescreen TV, perhaps it dosn't look how it is supposed to.

Meh.

Looks fine to me. Plays great too. But I guess that isn't important because:

Rumor: Konami cancels PS3 Coded Arms

Jan 2nd 2007 10:43PM (Joystiq)
This is great news for the PS3. That game was horrible. I played it at TGS and it froze the PS3 I was playing it on and before that it was like playing a slide show at about 10 frames per second. Blocky, jaggy and hard to control. It never should have been at TGS. If this game came out it would have just givin more fuel to the 360 fanboys. SO no big loss there. Still... you have to wonder.. what title will be dropped next?

@Natalie

We get it. You like fancy graphics.

I like good gameplay and a moving story. They mean much more to me than real-time facial expressions. Final Fantasy X2 looked great but I will take Final Fantasy IV over it every time. Sure amazing high-def, lighting and wind effect graphics would be the icing on the cake, but not having them just isn't the deal-breaker for me that it seems to be for you. Yeah, the game might suck, but until I have actually played it I will reserve my judgment. I think that is good advice.
