I agree. I love his fiction, but the facts of his character make me sad.

The one that always gets me is the condescending "Maybe you need to step away from your computer" guy. As if wanting to play a gorram video game that you paid for is a sign of some unhealthy addiction.

More outcomes added to a completely optional segment of a video game? Time to write on the forums about how Bioware hates straight white guys.

Too bad? Women get hit on all the time - like, constantly. Before you go championing the plight of the Heterosexual Male, you might want to consider exactly how hilariously insignificant that plight is in this context.

Game has the temerity to have a gay NPC hit on you? OMG why do you hate straight people!?

As a straight guy, I see no problem with letting people express themselves as they wish in RPG games - you know, the ones where player choice is so strongly emphasized. If I can choose to save an orphan or kill a kitten, then I damn well expect to be able to choose my imaginary sexfriend (should the game have a romance option).

Perhaps because you're conflating two unrelated issues?

The point I'm trying to make is simple. Acknowledging gay relationships in no way detracts from the existence of straight relationships. I'm not somehow being "neglected" because some other player has the opportunity to enter into a make-believe same sex relationship. To get up in arms about the very fact that straight relationships no longer monopolize the entirety of the choices one can make in these games strikes me as ignorant and spoiling for a controversy where none really exists.
