The engine in itself may be fairly new to the truck application, but it's been around for a bit in the SHO and even at that it's a new engine, not new technology. Turbochargers and direct injection are hardly revelatory.

Last I checked, VW was quite low - 3rd from the bottom and Ford was quite high in initial quality - 5th overall.

I've had my Fusion since January of '08 with not a single item needing repair on it thus far...

I like VW and Audi (more so audi), but Ford's really pulled their s@$& to in the last few years.
