I play SL. Once about every quarter I throw my Lindens on the Lindex and make about $35 bucks. If you are a creative type SL is an awesome outlet for experimenting and selling what you make to residents. SL also offers a bunch of other stuff like intuitive tools for Machinima artists.

It’s hard to describe what SL is to someone’s that’s never played it so the best example I’ve seen is think the Matrix only where everyone knows they’re plugged in. Inside the Matrix you’re pretty much free to do what you want including causing a ruckus like this graygoo fiasco.

If you factor in the cost of airline, car rental, hotel, food and everything wouldn't it be cheaper to bid on a PS3 on eBay? This article is such a waste... :-/

I think the latest PS3 ad with the doll is probably one of the creepiest things I've ever seen! o_o

Whatever... I'll not waste my time giving these aholes the attention they crave.

90% of these people want to put the PS3 up on eBay for $2500. I feel no sympathy for any of them... including those shot in line.

As a Second Life resident I can tell you that if Linden Labs sells their platform to some faceless entity many will leave. I'll probably leave myself. I refuse to "live" in a world filled with corporate sponsorship at every turn.

I'm not surprised considering P!NK record label Arista is owned by... you guessed it... SONY. Can you blame Sony? They have the cross-product marketing down pat. Just look at the PSP and movie tie-ins.

Who buys movie-ties games anyhow? I mean I'll probably go see Eragon but nothing compels me to go purchase the game. If anything I'll go buy the books.

It's not so much insensitivity and more anonymity coupled with age. It’s a fact that WOW’s player base is made up of mostly kids… greedy kids more keen on getting uber loot instead of forming friendships. I personally played WOW for a year and decided to stop because of the player base age… that and those damn Chinese farmers always asking my mage for water and food.
