Diablo 3 to emphasize cooperation, PvP to be included

Jul 5th 2008 5:12PM (Joystiq)
I'm a bit put off by all the blues and greens in the dungeon shown in the gameplay video. I'd really rather see a darker, scarier, lonelier atmosphere. As such, I signed the petition.

However, I think the game other than that one little thing looks fucking amazing. I'll buy it the minute it releases.

I'm also excited about the emphasis on Co-op. Diablo II really got pointless to play after everyone decided to not actually play the game anymore. It seems like Blizzard is aiming to improve that problem.

Kyle Turley Wants Pacman Jones Banned

May 9th 2008 11:36PM (Fanhouse NFL Blog)
@LB, jdstep, and others:

If you would review the FACTS about the situation against the Jets, you would understand that Turley was only reacting to Damien Robinson attacking Aaron Brooks in a similar brutal fashion. He was simply protecting his quarterback. What would you have done? Watched as your teammate laid helpless on the ground screaming in agony as his neck was being violently wrenched?

@ Jones:

This is NOT a case of different punishments for similar crimes. Pacman's 16 game suspension was in reaction to ten (count them: TEN) arrests in a year. That's a little more than just making a mistake.

Some of you need to get real. Pacman deserved his suspension and deserves to have his return seriously questioned and considered.

I'm admitting this and I'm a fan of his. I think he's an exciting young talent and I'd love to see him have a long productive career in the NFL. However, I'm also a fan of Michael Vick. So take that how you want.

It's just so UGLY.

New football game Backbreaker uses euphoria tech

Frank, for all we know the name "Backbreaker" could be nothing more than a code for the game at this stage in its life. That is to say, little more than a tech demo.

Games and hardware get code names. Ever hear of the Revolution or Project Offset?

Actually, I think the catching and ball carrier cuts are the least exciting animations in the game. And the ball physics. Those suck. I'm not sure how the NCAA series gets the ball so perfect, but it's so fake and boring in Madden.

But that's all beside the point. The tackling in this tech demo does look pretty damn awesome.

"It should be illegal to hit a receiver when he's not looking."

Man, are you serious? So you're saying a reciever should be able to look away from the defenders and they have to wait for him to see them before they can make a hit?

You may think the game is too violent, but rule changes in recent years have really done a lot to protect the players.

Actually, guys, Madden is a pretty stellar football title. You can say something over and over again and it doesn't make it true. Madden is not a shitty game. It's really well executed, and that's why it's been so popular for years and years. You guys act like they've had the license since the early 90s and they brain wash people into buying it. Get real.

2K addresses BioShock widescreen issue

Aug 23rd 2007 3:26PM (Joystiq)
No, I don't need you "correcting" my opinion. The biggest attraction to of wide screen to me is the extra screen area on the sides, so why try to correct that?

If someone says the biggest attraction of buying a truck, in their opinion, is looking cool, then are you going to correct them by saying, "NU-UH, IT'S THE HAULING SPACE PROVIDED BY THE BED." No, because that's stupid. That's not why they want a truck.

So, yeah man. Fuck off.

Can you read, retard? I said it's the BIGGEST ATTRACTION -- wait for this, this part is important -- IN MY OPINION.

And, in fact, a big selling point of wide-screen TVs is the extra screen area. Shows such as My Name Is Earl even play with it in ways such as having a character standing in what would be off screen for viewers using a 4:3 set and holding up a note that says "HD ROCKS!" So try to sit there and tell me that it's not part of the wide screen experience for a lot of people.

Fuck off.

Actually, E.J., the thing is that Microsoft has still yet to do anything but lose money on the Xbox at all. The original Xbox lost them something like 4 billion dollars and as far as I know they haven't made anything on the 360 yet.

The difference between Microsoft and Sony here is that Sony actually makes a profit off their games division. In fact, it's one of their only financially successful departments right now.
