Adobe Flash Player 9 updated

Nov 19th 2006 12:06PM (TUAW.com)
It still crashes 90+% of the time. Adobe continues to alienate those of us who've invested in new hardware. The only way I can reliably view flash is to force Safari to run in Rosetta mode. By the way every adobe support doc I have seen has said specifically NOT to do this. But its the only thing that works. It also makes my system very slow, and uses almost 500mb of ram while Safari is open.

Metareview - Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2 (DS)

Oct 6th 2006 4:10AM (Joystiq)
I bought this game today. Great game. Fun, simple, addictive. The first floor is easy enough to get you into the game. Haven't cleared the second floor yet. Nintendo made a few good decisions regarding the sharing of designed levels. First off, you can upload your levels to the server, and any friend can download it, if you're online or not. You can also download directly from Nintendo.

I bought the game, and within a couple hours, my wife and my buddy's kids had downloaded the demo from me and were playing as well.

Gameplay is slightly lemmings-esque, but there are limited abilities that you can pick up for your minis. So far the only item I've seen is the hammer.

15-inch MacBook Pro Battery Exchange Program

Jul 31st 2006 12:44PM (TUAW.com)
I've had my MBP since early may, with no visible signs of deformation in the battery, or any noticible loss of battery life. *Shrug* Guess I'd better order a new one just to be safe.

But what about audio & video quality? The Bitrate is nowhere to be found (by looking at the screen shots, or on the website)

How would you convince a PC user to switch?

Mar 29th 2006 9:10AM (TUAW.com)
When my mom got around to buying her first laptop, I told her that if she bought the mac, she'd never know why she paid more for it, but if she bought the dell she was looking at, she'd quickly see why it was sooo much cheaper. It worked, she got an iBook later that day.

When my dad was asking about a laptop for his new business, I tried the same thing on him. He wasn't such an easy sell, being both broke and very unfamilar with computers in general. These words changed his mind: Buy a Mac, and you've got a chance of being disapointed; buy a pc, and you've got a chance at being satisfied.

He hasn't bought a laptop yet, because he's waiting till he can afford the mac he wants.... Just a few thoughts.

Apple to outsource tech support to India

Mar 10th 2006 10:27AM (TUAW.com)
Hmmm... using intel processors, moving support to india... Who do they think they are, microsoft?

I mean, seriously, when was the last time that anyone had a satisfactory tech support call that was answered outside this country?!

The two times that I've called Apple tech support, I've gotten someone in the US who spoke english ver well, and who was very helpful. It was one of the reasons I recommended that my parents buy a mac when they bought my mom a new laptop last year.

WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO?!

Personally, I never understood the hoopla over NNW... I've always prefered NewsFire.
