'Black Swan' composer Clint Mansell working on Mass Effect 3 soundtrack

Feb 10th 2011 11:11AM (Joystiq)
@RonnocoMail

I loved the ME and ME2 soundtracks along with Jade Empire. My problem with Jack Wall leaving is that if he can be switched out with someone else than anyone in Bioware can.

My first thought was that EA was the one that made this decision. As good as Clint Mansell may be, Jack Wall's soundtrack *is* Mass Effect. I have a huge fear that little by little key people will start getting replaced (in future games) ultimately leaving Bioware an empty shell.

maybe im just being paranoid...

Book critic plays BioShock, says it's not quite "art"

The art world is one that accepts a tin can of doo-doo as art: http://home.sprynet.com/~mindweb/can.htm

I'll be damned if I'll hear some a-hole tell me that videogames are not art and then look me square in the eye and explain the s-in-a-can.

Another game bill bites the dust in Mississippi

This is actually one of the few things I agree with. It sucks to do this, but in the bigger picture it might take some heat off of the videogame industry for violent games.

Obviously parents aren't doing their job, so, in a way it's up to the retailers.

Besides, it feels so good telling a little kid he can't have a game and see him whine about it.

MEE launched, Marc Ecko getting (all) up (in the industry)

Feb 14th 2007 8:13AM (Joystiq)
referring to post #15, I think Ecko's right about gamers having a bug up their ass about urban games.

The problem is that some people (EA in particular) have been exploiting the urban genre 'till the rest of us are sick of it. How many more "undergrounds" do we need, and Def Jam(fighting), while good at first, seems to have gotten worse. Not only that, it doesn't help that movies come out and further exploit urban culture.

His game(IMO) was just more of the same. He's just as guilty for riding the urban train that pretty much took of with GTA:SA (Rockstar being the only one to do it best).

He's just mad that the game wasn't as good as the people kissing his ass kept telling him.

Alex Ward flips out during MTV interview

this guy's a moron...

To "beat" a videogame is to get to the end. Aside from MMORPG's the majority of games in existence revolve around a central storyline, which, when once gotten to the end of said storyline, then the game would be considered "beat." No more story left or everything achieved. Besides, games are pretty much, for all intents and purposes, meant to be beaten.

This guy is just upset that his game got overlooked and received no love whatsoever. The graphics looked amazing, but it drowned under much better games out at the time.

For some reason, I feel this game may have done better if released under another publisher other than EA.

Europe's 'This is living' PS3 ad

Jan 16th 2007 2:12AM (Joystiq)
to #28, nobody here in the U.S. gives a doo-doo about cup stacking either.

Reading the title, I figured the ad would feature a chick(s) with big boobies, and since it was a European ad, I figured it wouldn't to far an assumption.
