Finally! I knew it wouldn't take too long until Microsoft Surface made it's money worth!

Skype 'technically possible' on DSi

Apr 22nd 2009 12:08PM (Joystiq)
Unfortunately "technically possible" is incompatible with marketing's evilness. For example, gears of war is technically possible to be played by all the PS3 owners out there, but that's not gonna make it happen.

Blizzard's next MMO: Not World of Warcraft 2

Oct 18th 2008 8:17PM (Joystiq)
World of StarCraft does sound plausible, considering that it was rumored to replace StarCraft 2. But I'd bet my money on a Diablo MMORPG instead.

Mac is a great platform for 3D, and Mac Pro is one of the best solutions for high-end 3D out there...

DICE: Battlefield Heroes 'already out', closed beta to expand

@ Macca: It's people like you that have really reduced the value of actually commenting an article...
Mac is a platform, and has playble games. EA is supposed to release all the titles to pc and mac simultaneously, so if it's EA, it's coming to the mac.
Not only is he gonna play the game to his mac, but also more AAA+++ games that are displayed in the site, such as starcraft2, diablo3, spore and more. Comments like "idiot" are only displaying your own idiotic level of thinking.

Expand your German vocabulary with the Bionic Commando developer walkthrough

There isn't much hype around this game for some reason, it hasn't been shown by the media very much (comparing to other super hyped titles like star wars force unleashed, mirror's edge, and many others).
But it looks like it could be the year's winner. If not it certainly has some of the greatest & most atmospheric environments created, alongside with fallout 3. And the animation is amazing, nothing like the ninja gaiden, snappy insect -like animation of force unleashed which really disappointed me.

Epic pres on making Wii games: 'we go forward, not back'

Apr 21st 2008 6:36PM (Joystiq)
I don't see what's to debate here... It's Nintendo we're talking about, it's basically the definition of video-games.
The quality of video-games is something that's supposed to be diachronic, like in film-making. Can't really compare a film such as Seven to a crappy movie such as Alien vs Predator because it's got high tech visuals.
It's lame to think of high tech visuals as the way forward vs intuitive originality. In 3-4 years people will hardly play their games, while I find myself playing SNES & NES games or PC classic adventures quite often.
But always good to have high-techies as well, since they're pretty much needed in the industry.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed gets multiplatform exclusives

Apr 5th 2008 2:26PM (Joystiq)
I think this has always been most marketed for the 360/ps3 version. As good as the controls and interactive experience might sound the wii, one can tell from the graphics that they didn't really pay much attention on making the Wii version. It's not the less polygons or smaller textures. It's the damn washed out look of the playstation 2. PS2's games always looked washed out, while mario galaxy has shown us that we can have a nice colorful experience for the Wii. So the only logical conclusion is that the Wii version uses the PS2 graphic engine, which means they really paid null attention to it...
