Nov 16th 2007 9:06AM (Joystiq)Fernando is one of the worst trolls in Joystiq and it is one of the main reason I rarely read the comments (and I don't think I'm not the only one) on this site. You're defending his lame actions of trolling every post related to Sony's posting. It doesn't helps his defense that he is usually one of the first comments in almost every blog post.
Today's resold meme video: WoW Toyota commercial
Oct 7th 2007 2:45PM (Joystiq)I know truck owners that are gamers. It doesn't mean my thinking is that the majority of truck owners are gamers. However, data shows truck owners tend to be young males. Young males tend to watch football and play video/computer games. (http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9D0DE1DB1631F933A15757C0A9639C8B63&sec=&spon=&pagewanted=print)
In my opinion which probably be obvious by now, I think Toyota hit the nail on this. If you visit video game (i.e, Joystiq, Blizzard's forums) and "geek" websites (i.e., Digg) forums, it is popular. In fact, the commercial is currently on the most played videos in Youtube. (http://youtube.com/browse?s=mp)
By the way, I have a bachelor's degree in marketing but I'm no way an expert and not planning to expand my knowledge on the field i.e., going to graduate business school. No way even close to be affiliated with Toyota or the people who made the ad.

Oct 7th 2007 2:06AM (Joystiq)As I previously mention, those commercials were aired during college football games. College students don't play video games?

It is legit. It aired multiple times on CBS during college football games.
Why the PS3's lack of backwards compatibility is upsetting [update 1]
Oct 6th 2007 3:04PM (Joystiq)According to Wikipedia's entry (I know everybody edits this crap so it could unreliable), only the Emotion Engine were removed from the European versions. The PS2 graphics chips were still in the the Euro PS3 just not the CPU. The CPU was software emulated. Wikipedia's source for that information is GameIndustry.biz/Eurogamer, which are pretty reliable. The new Euro PS3s removed both of the PS2 CPU and GPU.

Joystiq impressions: Heavenly Sword (PS3)
Jul 15th 2007 5:14PM (Joystiq)"Oh my god, he is belittling DS's graphics. Holy cow, if you look at his bio, Yoon is a Sony fanboy because he writes for Joystiq's PSP section weblog. Definitely a fanboy." Grow up. Please.
Yes, he works for Joystiq's offshoot, PSP Fanboy according to his bio but if you look at his favorite games you notice there are more games that he likes on *gasp* Nintendo systems. He is definitely a Nintendo fanboy, now.
