Maybe this good news will help take their minds off of how bad Haze blows.

Chicago Transit Authority caves to minimal pressure, pulls Grand Theft Auto IV ads

How ironic, Fox news thinks it's unethical to promote GTA and give it bad press but in doing so they generate more buzz about the game and probably encourage more people to buy it by admonishing the game.

It's like when people see Viewer Discretion Advised on TV, makes them want to see something more. Fox News tries to tell us that we shouldn't be playing GTA has same effect. Most people who game know what they are getting with GTA and will either buy it or won't. But people who aren't familiar with it see Fox News trying speak out against it and think, hmmm, maybe there's something here worth checking out.

If I were Rockstar I wouldn't be disappointed with this kind of response from media. They are probably amused by it and actually appreciate the publicity. Keep up the good work Fox News. More $$$ for Rockstar.

Rumor: Comic Con brings The Darkness sequel talk

Apr 21st 2008 4:48PM (Joystiq Xbox)
I was looking for a new FPS when I bought The Darkness and really wasn't expecting anything great. But it turned out to be a very enjoyable experience from start to finish.

I'd definitely buy the sequel. And as far as MP goes, I don't need it either. For MP, I only play H3 so the only thing I need is single player.

Last chance: win Rainbow Six Vegas 2

I actually interpreted the last monkey picture as stating that people who prefer COD4 are similar in nature to poorly trained monkeys. Agreed.

I had some thoughts on the reasoning of these stats but I think #17 captured it perfectly.

I played alot of COD 2, tried to play some COD 3 and play alot of Halo 3 (first halo game i've owned). And I will say that Halo 3 is a true challenge, both in respect to the competition/skill level and ranking system. You really need to earn it.

As someone who plays alot of team slayer/team oriented games, there is no consequences of losing a team match in COD4 and if you play long enough any sh_t player can reach the highest rank. There is no urgency or accountability like there is in H3 matches. And I think that does appeal to alot of people. You get realized results with as much effort as you want to put in to it (little or alot).

EA predicts 360 sales to lag behind PS3's in '08

Feb 4th 2008 12:03PM (Joystiq Xbox)
I had the opportunity to basically get a PS3 for free. Problem is there is only 2 games I want to play on it (Uncharted and Ratchet/Clank). For xbox 360, I own 31 games (i just traded in 4 and this doesn't included xbox live games). So instead of getting a PS3, I decided to get a backup xbox 360 for free that I can use in my bedroom. Choice really wasn't that tough.

Friday deal: Half price 360 controllers

Jan 25th 2008 4:16PM (Joystiq Xbox)
During an average day of gaming, I probably grab my nuts about 50 times and pick my nose a few times. This is pretty standard for most guys I think. So if you buy a controller from here, have fun fondling another dude's balls while you pwn some n00bs.

CoD4 boots Halo 3 from its Xbox Live throne

Jan 22nd 2008 1:03PM (Joystiq Xbox)
My biggest problem with COD4 is that winning as a team has very little benefit. Therefore team matches lack the intensity and sometimes desperation that I experience in H3 (both social and ranked matches). Part of the intensity can also be attributed to the team balancing of H3 (in both social and ranked) which is obviously far superior. These things contribute to an expierence that makes H3 exciting each match.

As far as long term playability, rank system in H3 is so much better done than in COD4. As someone who didn't play H2, I find myself continually challenged to move up in skill level (stuck at 34, for now). Combined with EXP, this makes H3 a more long term multiplayer experience for me.
