SGD '07: Joystiq hands-on with Heavenly Sword

That screenshot selection there doesn't look too good. Does it play better in motion?

Today's most almost in-the-wild video: Halo beta footage

May 13th 2007 8:38AM (Joystiq)
It's all really fun at the moment because we've only got about 1500 people on at any one time and they're all pretty nice guys. It feels really close knit because... well it is!

That's going to change on the 16th, but hopefully the fact that matchmaking will be quicker to find a game will compensate.

GRAW 2 gets 'Throwback Pack' for $10

May 9th 2007 10:24AM (Joystiq)
As long as the maps have been suitably enhanced, I don't see any problem with someone spending £6.80 for seven maps. That's just under a quid a map, which is the rate I think should be standard. We can be annoyed at four GoW maps for 800MSP that the developers wanted to be free. We can be annoyed at three Guitar Hero 2 tracks for 500Mp... but I don't think we can really be too annoyed with seven remastered GRAW maps for 800MSP.

Of course if they're not well made...

Major Nelson co-host burns Epic in 'free' debate

May 8th 2007 11:14AM (Joystiq)
Epic may have paid for the staff who made the maps, but who paid for the advertising that sold the game which gave Epic money to pay their staff to make maps?

It's not clear cut at all, and whilst I'm not going to pay 800MSP for four maps no matter how nice they are, I'm not prepared in this case to get worked up like I did over the Guitar Hero 2 tracks. I'm going to wait to buy them for free, and hopefully the number of people doing so will reinforce the argument of those of us who believe free maps will get MS more money than charged maps.

UK paper: Sony used beheaded goat to promote God of War II

That picture is from the latest issue of the UK Official PS2 Magazine. It's been recalled now, and so those few copies sent to subscribers will be the only ones out there to have the article - uncensored too I might add.

It's not fake...

Gamespot leaks Xbox 360's new dashboard

Apr 7th 2007 6:46PM (Joystiq)
Razer; YOU should make a list because it's YOU who is going on about them not putting in things that YOU want. I mean seriously, you couldn't name one thing off the top of your head that you wanted in? The only one I can think of it multi-user chat. For me Live is pretty much feature complete as it stands, and all that really remains is for MS to tidy up the edges. Telling me what Achievement I've unlocked and how many points it's worth? Yeah, smart idea. Telling me what game I have in the drive? Cool! Having a blade for XBLM? Makes sense.

There's no big gaping "background download" hole in the service any more. All they need are these small tweaks.

Gamespot leaks Xbox 360's new dashboard

Apr 7th 2007 5:33PM (Joystiq)
Alright Razer, what do YOU want from the dashboard? I mean it's all very well saying Microsoft isn't catering to the consumer, but you don't have a single suggestion for what SHOULD be included instead.

Seventeen Brits complain about Wii ad violence

You shouldn't put "sic" after "offence" as that's the way it's spelt! I've never seen the BBC use "sic" when quoting an American phrase such like "civilization"...
