These would make great " get your game on and still hear the baby monitor" headphones ... At least as long as said baby monitor has an output jack

@AlexL There is no such thing as too much power in a 13" laptop. Why sacrifice power for portability if you don't have to? Personally I'd love to see similar power in the next iteration of the 13" macbook pro, which I'm not so patiently waiting for :) 13" is great for a machine you carry with you and you can always connect to an external monitor if the task at hand would benefit from more screen space.

I've been shopping around for a 13" laptop for a different reason, but I've been debating between a Dell XPS 13 and a MacBook Pro 13. In my case I need something more powerful than a netbook but still very portable. The there are mac only apps that it would be benifitial to run in my case so I'm leaning towards getting the MacBook and either using bootcamp or Fusion to power my windows needs.

For note taking in class I would personally suggest a cheep netbook or the lightest possible computer. So something like a MacBook Air or the new Vostro 13 would be ideas. Something with a touch screen would be even better for note taking as there will be times you just want to draw something by hand. I remember Asus had a 10" netbook/tablet in the works, but I lost track of it's development.
