I'm suddenly very concerned for how good this will be.
I don't know about you, but the reason I loved EDF so much was the sheer number of enemies; fire a rocket into a swarming mass of ants and see their carcasses fly about, ricocheting off skyscrapers - truly glorious.

Looking at the couple of screenshots, there's maybe 12-15 ants on screen in the screenshot. Yeah, it looks a lot prettier, but I bet it only looks so much better because there's so many less enemies.

This theory is compounded by the fact they're doing online co-op. Using standard methods, you wouldn't be able to synchronise hundreds of enemies across an online connection, so reducing the number of enemies means they can have online play as well.

I'm really hoping this turns out to be good though, I loved the first 360 version.

It appears it's IP locked. I can't get past the main button with a European IP (UK), but if I use an American proxy, I can get to the questionnaire at least.

My main concern is this:
Where is the friends list in the guide?

If I'm in a game and want to invite a friend, I don't want to have to go back to the main dash just to party up.

I'm hoping that's just a little mistake, and that a friends list will be there on the final version.

Are the avatars optional? Can we use gamerpics instead?
Will there be enhanced video support (.mkv)?

The current guide interface flips open and takes a couple of seconds to even respond to input. Will the new guide interface be quick to load?

Will there be a clock on the new guide?

The only thing I can think of that might be problematic is what firmware you're updating from. Maybe if you kept up to date with the updates, everything would work fine; but if you were a few behind, it wouldn't work.

Maybe there should be a poll to see what versions people updated from and if they had an issue.

Major Nelson confirmed that the titles will remain on the servers, so if your hard drive breaks, you will be able to re-download them.
You'll also be able to buy trials you've downloaded and download from a friend recommendation.

They're removing the unpopular titles from the marketplace, not the whole system.
