Ok, I read the whole thing, word for word. Here's what I took away:

Xbox neat. Played at Christmas.

Format war. Boring... Zzzzzz...

GUI important to Microsoft 10 years too late.

He and his kids own an iPod, just like everyone else as Microsoft; He lied about it though.

Annnnnnd that's it. Tada! Boring interview -- not that I blame Engadget -- Bill is just a boring guy.

I don't get why you say you can see why they're trying to keep the interface under wraps... Maybe because it looks just like XP? Maybe because it's nothing new and they are hoping people will actually buy it?
