Jul 19th 2011 12:32PM (Joystiq)What do you think the purpose of that girl's headphones are for?
A. She can hear enemies miles away anticipating their location of attack. Unfortunately there is only one way to go since she navigates through a single lane corridor, inevitably running into the enemy anyways for a turn based fight, making the headphones irrelevant in the first place.
B. They don't do a thing. Designers just put them there so they can wait in anticipation what their most loyal cosplaying fans will use for the headphones during their favorite conventions. Dixie cups? That would be hysterical!
C. How can you slay some winged hyena like creatures without some groovy J-Pop?

Jun 30th 2011 12:51PM (Joystiq)Are you kidding me? This is the type of stuff conservative eat in droves. It's prepping non-boot strappy population of kids who instead of toiling away in video games wasting away tax money , will be preparing them as world security for the problems oil fields will be facing within the next century.

Jun 29th 2011 5:47PM (Joystiq)The mindshare? Did you see the reaction across the internet when PSN went down? It seemed that every other user on a message board was disappointed that PSN went down. That indicates a couple of things.
1. Microsoft has severely overstated their Live base, many of those PSN users are ex Xbox Live users who refuse to pay for P2P.
2. Even though the 360 has sold more consoles in the U.S. I bet you there are for more active PS3's than there are 360's.
The Playstation brand is still pound for the pound the strongest in the world, and you know and I know that the Xbox division have their hands tied from corporate because you know if Microsoft had complete trust in the Xbox brand the entertainment division would have more first pary acquisitions under their belt since Microsoft has very deep pockets. Face it the Xbox brand is one bone headed move away from leaving the console market.
NPD: 360 selling twice as many online-capable games as PS3
Jun 28th 2011 4:25PM (Joystiq)Actually pretty much any router made within the past 5-8 years has the ability to open your nat with a couple of clicks on the default gateway. Most new routers already come with the NAT disabled such as the Netgear WNDR3700. You probably didn't need to buy a new router. It's ok though you live and you learn. Cool story bro!

Jun 28th 2011 2:48PM (Joystiq)You are right. It is subjective, MP isn't for everyone. However judging by the popularity of Multiplayer, it is safe to say that the proliferation of MP has gained many converts who used to love only playing SP.
NPD: 360 selling twice as many online-capable games as PS3
Jun 28th 2011 2:45PM (Joystiq)It's a business related article. In fact NPD's reason for existence is to appease the business side of the industry, not fanboy wars. The reason NPD limited the exposure of its information was to focus solely on those who subscribe to their services for the business related side of the video game industry and not fanboy wars. This information is good for publishers who probably only have the limited resources to concentrate on one platform, if games sell more on the Live platform then choosing Live as their primary distribution service makes a whole lot more sense.
There is nothing more to this story.

Jun 28th 2011 2:42PM (Joystiq)Why should it bother you? Just because Xbox Live sells twice the amount of games PSN does, doesn't automatically diminish the enjoyment you get out of your PS3.
