XBLA this week: Penny Arcade Adventures

May 20th 2008 11:39AM (Joystiq Xbox)

I buy crappy video games for 20 Bux all the damned time. I get a few hours out of them, usually laughing at how stupid I was to buy them, before they go on Goozex.

I'm a PA fanboy, and I'll be buying this the second it comes out. Seriously, i know the guys put in a solid amount of time writing the game. I expect it to be funny.

I understand complaining about the price, and being on the fence, but realize they have an audience who trusts the brand and feels that the work put into the game most likely justifies the price tag.

The lads would not risk a backlash from the core audience of the strip, expect stunning art direction and hilarity.

Now, If I could just get my 10$ back from the broken Mr. Driller..........

GTAIV box art, Etch-a-Sketched

May 1st 2008 2:23PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Exactly. You are dope at something that is actually considered to be a legitimate art form in some circles. Etch A Sketch art is increasingly well regarded, has a huge net community, and is in my opinion, awesome.

So, you know, keep it up, I don't see lot's of etchy artists doing video game stuff. Completely understandable thing to do during work downtime.

I'm going on a bizniz trip tomorrow, and damn if I'm not regretting it now. Palm springs sounded great a month ago.

Shin-chan improbably heads to Europe

Ack, sorry about that, my form filling plugin went crazy.

The show had punch up writing from Evan Dorkin and Sarah Dyer this last season, and I thought it was hilarious. I've never tried to watch it with subtitles, I wonder how much they changed it. I'd love to check out the game.

Although my larger-than-life Dewy's Adventure plush is cool, a Super Mario Coin is not only thematically apropriate, it is less likley to make people my age pitty me.

As far as free swag goes, this is key. In for 1.

Fantastic, posted in the wrong thread. I'm an idiot. I'm also an idiot because I am thinking of picking up Jenga.

Wii Ware specifics revealed

Nov 13th 2007 6:12PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
@nytestalker,

Good point about the transfer rate, but totally one that can be worked out. I'm not so sure running games off a usb flash device would be too slow, and even if it was, Nintendo could totally reserve blocks of main system memory to transfer the data over to the the internal flash in real time, then run the game from there.

While you and I may have reliable connections, not everyone does. I'll be the first to admit I am lazy, and the prospect of having to re-download a game, then reboot the thing, would keep me from ever playing the lost levels again after i deleted it. I mean, who wants to wait to feel inadequate?
