May 23rd 2007 9:40PM (Joystiq Playstation)I wouldn't say it goes out the window for multiplatform games. Which is one definite problem. There's a ridiculous amount of PS3 titles that can be found on the 360, whether it be already release, or upcoming. As for Haze, I'm confident that if the 360 eventually launches, it'll look just like the PS3 version. Same with every EA game, every THQ game, every Activision game, etc. If it can be found on the 360, its probably not going to look any better (sometimes worse) on the PS3.
"I think GTAIV will be a huge test, as will Assasin's Creed. It will also be interesting to see how DMC4 turns out, since I'm tempted to assume PS3 was the lead system in it's development as well."
I think its safe to say that Capcom may be willing to make an effort on the PS3. They may not, but then again they've done a pretty good job working on all platforms.

May 23rd 2007 9:21PM (Joystiq Playstation)That seems to be a recurring theme for the PS3. You're hard-pressed to find quite a few companies actually willing to go the extra mile for something so new. Its not just general code either. Game developers aren't trying very hard either. Its because, with other stuff out on the market, no one feels a need to make such a drastic leap.

May 23rd 2007 5:51PM (Joystiq)You pretty much hit the nail on the head, or at least from my view. First the console was a gimmick, and it wouldn't sell. Then it was all hype, and sales would drop fast. Now its not going to sell very well years down the road for some unknown reason (unless you're Hiro Nakamura).

May 23rd 2007 4:47PM (Joystiq Playstation)Where's the "ton" part? I'm not sure what your definition of "a ton" is, but I would imagine its more than four games. I'm not saying that you can't list more. I'm just saying that, maybe you shouldn't say that unless you're willing to prove it.
"Taylor B you are right those games have the potential to be hard hitters but they aren't garuntied system sells like MGS and FF."
The MGS franchise isn't a system seller. And that's coming from a die-hard Metal Gear fanboy. MGS generally appeals to a specific type of gamer. The sales never match the hype (not even close). Final Fantasy has a better shot at selling consoles than MGS.
