Say what you will about Itagaki, the man knew what the fans wanted and delighted in giving it to them in the most over the top fashions possible, be it the punishing difficulty and style of Ninja Gaiden or the sex appeal of DOA that spawned the Beach games. They weren't for everybody, but they were what the core fanbase wanted.

The new Team Ninja's tendancy to move away from the things that made their franchises unique has me worried about DOA 5.

@sigma8 DOA will always be sexy. And it still is, just look at Kasumi's costume. What they mean I bet is I doubt you'll see any more DOA beach games, and probably no more bikini unlocks lol.

@ticklefist I prefer the old look more to be honest; its a Japanese game and doesn't need "westernizing". That being said, they definately softened the look from the initial screenshots and I think they've struck a pretty good balance. Thought the same thing with the Kasumi trailer.

@Rob Liv Not to mention the fact that unlike Japan, we don't even get a discount on games we already own on UMD. The coffin is already nailed shut but they just keep adding more. To everyone who is going to get one of these things, I hope you have a wonderful time with it and enjoy it for a long time, but its dead in the water to me.

My intrest in this game was at zero before this. Now its 10 degrees below zero.

I'm glad Sophitia is in, but as for the Mimic part, I'm holding out hope that part isn't true untill something official is announced.

@Helghast102 I didn't mean it literally. I just meant a game that plays like Oblivion and Skyrim with a huge, open map, open world that you can do whatever you want in, but with art direction and models that look like Final Fantasy XIII's. As much as I love Skyrim, I wouldn't wish those bugs on anybody.

If they really want to make a runaway hit JRPG these days, here's what they need to do.

Team up the artists, modelers and writers of the Final Fantasy team with the programmers and designers from Bethesda.

Heck,, at least for the Art, that's pretty much what most of the Modding community is working twords doing anyway. I know I bought the limited edition of Skyrim and if they dropped FF XIII quality models in there, I'd buy it again.
