I don't doubt it's pretty (never said otherwise), but at this particular point, I just can't justify dropping that much on a television.

question for those who are more technically savy than myself.

I was thinking about the wii-mote... and then the vision camera... do you think if maybe... you used a special glove, or a color... or something... you could use the vision camera to track your movement as part of the primary complex interface? similar to how the wii mote functions (though the technology would be totally different).

Justin: also, That has yet to be really proven. Personally, I have taken the "I'll believe it when I see it" as I sure as hell am not going to take insomniacs word on the subject.

Xbox 360 fanboy/Sony hater here... and I'm not gonna deny it... The Elite is a deliberate move agains the PS3... though none of this is particularly surprising to me, as the one thing that struck me was how microsoft's whole business venture seems to be focused primarily on cutting sony down at every pass... and damn, they're good at it.

So basically, microsoft is doing what it does best... smothering the competition and outdoing them in every way... except in style... cuz seriously.... apple anyone?

And as a 360 fanboy... gotta tell you, I couldn't give two flying Fricks about the Elite... and if for some reason I did... I'd have purchased a ps3 (assuming that it'll have at least one must have title... which personally, I have yet to be convinced of this... and yes fanboys, I've seen the ps3 lineup, you don't need to list it again).

Microsoft has received a lot of flack for making a lot of features (ie: hdd, hd-dvd... and whatever) but personally, I've appreciated it. I don't have a HDTV, and I don't plan to anytime in the forseeable future...

It's True that the PS3 does offer the best 'value' as far as total package go... but when I'm stuck buying components that don't even benefit me... seriously.

So... Microsoft builds the elite... very smart if you ask me, because there will always be those people who HAVE to get the latest and greatest...

I just don't happen to be one of those people, which is why i have my middle of the road xbox 360... and odds are, I'm never getting a playstation 3...ever

The funny thing about the whole "360 is doing horrible in japan thing" is how people didn't quite understand that Microsoft never planned to win japan, as much as initiate the process of succeeding in the future... just like the origional xbox was never intended to surpass the ps2... as much as it was just to establish it's self.

MR MCD, Luke: unfortunately I think you guys screwed yourselves. Yeah, on top of downloading shivering isle, you also needed to launch oblivion while connected to xbox live, as they did also release a patch. I kinda figured that would happen and made a point to do so before xbox live went down.
