Apple sets dates for WWDC 2011: June 6-10

Mar 28th 2011 10:38AM (TUAW.com)
Yet again no IT track (2nd year) looks like Apple really has made it clear w/ the changes in their server offerings, 10.7, etc. that they are not into IT anymore (not that they where ever heavy into it) and more or less a consumer only company. Looks like MacTech will be the best place for IT people now.

Actually the Dornier DoX has twelve 391 kW (524 hp) Siemens-built Bristol Jupiter radial engines. It looks like 6 because each pod has a pusher and puller configuration. An astounding airplane.

Mostly why bother having it on. over 5000' like you said does not really get coverage and some times to save battery power.

iPro Aviator pilot's kneeboard: Great in cockpit, car or classroom

Feb 14th 2011 9:57AM (TUAW.com)
The first thing i see that worries me is the rivets for the clip. I would worry that it would scratch the screen. Sporty's also has 2 other knee boards that cost less then this model. http://www.sportys.com/PilotShop/category/1100

It is cool to see this market segment grow. I am just waiting to find the right one for my flying.

iPad receives FAA certification as an electronic flight bag

I & my friend have used foreFlight in his airplane. We turn off the cell part but leave the GPS running. So far has worked very well. The cost is far far less then paper charts. Though we still print out paper to keep as a backup. We dont use Jeppesen Mobile due to cost and really there is not one flight bag software that is a clear winner in the aviation race yet. But so far, the iPad wins every day over paper charts for us. Though i will not be allowed to use it for my pilot exams. Need to show them i can still use paper and do everything the old fashioned way.
