GameFly rate increasing by $1 due to mail and game cost

Jun 5th 2007 5:25PM (Joystiq)
GamesNflix has a horrible turnaround and a much smaller video game library for the Xbox 360 then Gamefly does. GamesNflix is cheaper but I had to wait 10 days after they received my game for command and conquer which I had in the Q for a month before they even had copies to ship out, this was a month after the game was released. Gamesnflix is cheap and you get what you pay for but its extremely slow turnaround and don’t expect new games as soon as they are released count on a few weeks to a month.

Sony's Phil Harrison: no pressure to drop PS3 price

Feb 27th 2007 9:24AM (Joystiq)
@ apoc06

“Games that don’t features guns” I will list games that I own, Viva Piñata, TDU, NFS series, Feeding frenzy, games that I have played include all the major sports games, Football, Hockey and Basketball and many others on XBL Arcade games, I may have missed a few. I see your point MS did have a horrible library at launch, but MS did have a better selection then PS3.

Again that is my point you say of course these are not console sellers but Phil listed them as such, why?

Sony's Phil Harrison: no pressure to drop PS3 price

Sony is a marketing machine, they have said they are going to sell based on name brand alone and I know they do, however that concerns me as a consumer, could they offer the PS3 at a lower price point? Was the PS3 released to soon? Is the current game library for the PS3 where it should be at? If Sony can sell the PS3 based off brand name alone what will happen with the PS4? Don’t get me wrong I want Sony to be around so that competition exists because it only benefits the consumer, however they offer me nothing in terms of a gaming console, and that is a bit disappointing to me.

I don’t respect that both Phil and Sony spin every question. Be honest, your price is to high for the casual gamer, PSN (play station network) is in its infancy and can’t compete with xbox live, achievements are an amazing addition and free something that Sony doest offer. Sony makes a statement how MS is basically spoon feeding you content, however there network is like Google, this is a joke, Sony NEEDS a standard gamer profile that you can use for every game, VOIP, DLC, Movie rentals, game demos, of course some things Sony already offers and while its free its lacking content and should NOT be bragged upon.

Blue ray isn’t needed for games and was quoted by Oblivion developers that it is indeed slower therefore they had to repeat the same data on the disc to get the speed needed to run the game smoothly.

Rumble isn’t “last gen” and if Sony had paid the company that Sony apparently stole it from in the first place it would be included in this generation.

They list games like Motorstorm, Liar, Heavily sword and FLOW, to be console sellers, that is another joke. These games are not console sellers this system at this point doesn’t have much to offer, most games that you find on the PS3 have been or soon to be released for other next gen consoles. I couldn’t imagine putting down $600 for me at least because all it would be is a Blue-ray player.

Does anyone that currently own a PS3 find 600 dollars worth of value in it?

My question as a consumer would be where is the value of this 600 dollar gaming system?

Sony needs to get in gear and start making software that warrants its $600 price tag…

Is it publicly and socially acceptable to be a gamer now?

Jan 26th 2007 5:39PM (Joystiq)
While I think gaming is generally more talked about now then it was 10 years ago I don’t think it’s because gaming today is the “brand new thing to do”. My generation (28) is one that grew up with games and now we are more of a social force then we were 10 years ago. Plus Gaming brings in 10+ billion dollars of revenue a year, no one cant be impressed by those numbers nothing in the entertainment area can rival it.

A True Gamer one that I am not anymore, lives by and has a certain lifestyle (When your best friend is named UGM, your a True Gamer) But now you have Pro Gamers, who would of thought 15 years ago you could make a living by beating people at online games. You have the Hardcore Gamer, the Family Gamer and the Casual Gamer, heck you have people that don’t even know what the word Gamer is and they themselves are Gamers.

I love my gaming heritage it’s what got me into computers and my love of electronics, it also has driven software and hardware to what it is today.

But I openly admit that I am a Gamer and I am proud of it.

Bungie laments Halo 2's failures

Nothing surprising to me, I thought Halo II sucked when compared to Halo and was in need of some serous polishing; apparently I am not alone…
