Wow, way to twist his words, Kietzman. That is not what he is saying at all and you know it, but I guess straw man arguments are what you try to pass of as journalism. If you are going to state your opinion, at least do it without sounding like a brat.
Anyways, He is saying that the primary focus of Wii games should be fun, and he has a point. Wii is not in the graphical power arms race to be sure, so there is naturally a higher focus on compelling gameplay. There must be if Wii wants to keep people interested. Developers necessarily budget their time and resources on different aspects of the game and less time making the graphics "pretty" in HD means more time spent on other aspects of the game.
Does that mean that games for 360 and PS3 have shitty gameplay - no. It just means that developers are simply likely to have different priorities when making games for different platforms and those of us who do not put HD visuals at the top our lists appreciate those differing priorities.
Wii Transfer for Mac OS turns your Wii into a media center, but not really
Jan 25th 2007 5:26PM (Joystiq)I don't want a multimedia console. I want a game console. Unless you are currently reading this page on the browser on your Wii and don't have a computer you already have a sufficient multimedia device.

Jan 9th 2007 4:04PM (Joystiq)Seconded. X-men/Turtles/Turtles in Time/The Simpsons would all be big hits on XBLA if it is a possibility. What company owns the rights to those games. I think TMNT is all Konami, but I could also see them going to VC based on the NES and SuperNES TMNT games wqhich were ports of the arcade versions (and TMNT 3 for NES which Ilove).
But I wonder who made Simpsons and Xmen for arcade and if those are even really a possibility.

I am sure that you do not understand the extent of your blasphemy, so I will sopare your life for that comment. But, SOTN is the most beautiful game ever and is absolutely perfect the way it is. Don't even try arguing back about that because I refuse to listen to logic. SOTN, if only for its style and flair, is absolutely gorgeous and always will be.

Jan 9th 2007 3:45PM (Joystiq)Killer7..."bleeds" uniqueness...teehee. I'm not sure whether that was intentional or not but if you've played the game then you should understand how literal that statement is.
On topic, I could see ways in which the game is meant to be a social commentary, even in the name, but the maker of the game needs to do a much better job of explaining himself. Obviously many people do not see the social commentary he is aparently going for...then again, I guess you could say the same for a lot of (pretentious) modern art and the artists don't seem to care in that case.
Even so, I could see the game being knocked out because of just being distasteful and not presenting a message clearly enough (or for all of the other things wrong with the game on a basic level), but it is sad to see it knocked out because sponsors are getting nervous.

Dec 30th 2006 11:56PM (Joystiq)You are 18 and your first memories are of N64?
At what age did you start gaming?
As a point of reference, I am 20 (born 1986) but I started gaming before the age of 4, so NES was definitely my first.

You can loosely connect race to socio-economic class and culture, which you can loosely connect to experiences and upbringing, which you can then loosely connect to someone's behavior.
You CAN do that, but it involves making a lot of completely unfair assumptions about the person in question based on a single factor.
Sure, you can go ahead and try to make a point about how stereotypes are based in true correlations (maybe so), but:
1.when you combine that many weak (or nonexistant) correlations into one stereotype, you no longer have any correlation, just a mess logical leaps and baseless conjectures, and also
2.screw you, you know nothing about this case except the guy's name and one line that he said that could have easily been misquoted or taken out of context. It just goes to show that everything that you base your stereotypes off of in this case is conjecture anyways. Last time I checked, stereotypes and blind assumptions (hypotheses?) did not constitute a strong argument (what the hell kind of scientific method are YOU using?)
So...hey, you can be racist all you want (I'm not going to start calling for censorship of opinions, as baseless as they may be) but please stop being dumb.
Yeah, that's you Anthony. I mean seriously man, I would gladly give a better defense of post 1's blatant racism simply to play Devil's advocate and to show you how bad your argument is...but instead I will just pick at it (its easier).
Good job, you showed us all how #1 concluded that Tyrone is black (pointless) and then back it all up with your brilliant claim of the "general ignorance of African Americans". (I'd like to see some statistics on that please...statistics from after the eraly 1900s maybe?)
And you kind of claimed that the word "N*****" is a necessary term because African Americans are ignorant?...yeah I couldnt even really try to drag sense out of that part.
Oh and seriously dude, I hate to pick on spelling but "their rights" not "there rights"...it was just so blatant, you capitalized it and wrote it twice...speaking of ignorant. I'm sure you just missed that little spelling error in your self-righteous fury. No biggie.
