The 'i' originated as meaning "Internet" as the ease to getting on the Internet was a main selling point of the orig. iMac (remember the Jeff Goldblum "3-steps to get on the internet" commercials?). They kept the 'i' as a good luck charm since the iMac was so successful. Now it's akin to the Nike swoosh.
Star Wars *is* about loot. It's about having a ship that zips through the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs. It's about pod racers and cool speeders.
And balancing BH's against Jedi is fine. Think of the high level BH's all being "Boba Fetts". He eats Jedi for breakfast. And seriously Jedi have turned into a joke thx to the prequels and games like TFU.
What Star Wars is *NOT* about is moisture farmers and junk shop dealers. Note how they were always side characters that, to the overall story, were rather useless.
I'd much rather the development time be spent on story and adventuring over junk dealing. I mean, seriously? Goto a flea market.
There is so much whining about a game that isn't even out yet. When it drops, if you don't like it, DON'T PLAY IT.
Makes me wonder why Sony doesn't ship the PS3 minus a hard drive in the first place and say "Put in whatever size works for you!" and drop each sku by 100 bucks. Let's face it, only hardcore are buying this damn thing and they're going to have a HDD not being used as it is, or hit up newegg and buy one for less 100. Any of the unwashed who buy one will get one foisted on them by Best Buy or Circuit City.
See this is why PC gamer makers and ATI/nVidia/(and now Intel) should work together on a platform to get hardware acceleration working in a format that doesn't require an OS. Yeah similar to console, but this way you could easily sell games to all OS users. With enough support from the right people this could break the dependence on Windows for gaming. I hear so many people say "I only use Windows because of games at home." it's stupid.
I want something like that with an RJ45 plug and a useful OS, strip out the GSM, EDGE, etc.. That would be so useful over yanking out my notebook to test network connections and lookit traffic.
