Moon on collision course with DS [Update: First trailer]

Mar 24th 2008 12:15PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Dementium is to Silent Hill what Moon will be to Doom.

DS Daily: Guitar Hero DS

Sep 25th 2007 3:33PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
When I heard about this I got rather excited. Likely, the peripheral they use would connect with the Slot-2 port, like Arkanoid and that "move-around-on-the-table" game. Has Nintendo fully phased out all support for DS Phat units? Because with the DS Lite I could easily see the entire DS plug into the peripheral, no longer than a foot, and you can bend the screen to a 90 degree angle so you can look down and see your fingers and the screen. In my head, it's a lap-game. Headphones are likely going to be a must for this game. And there's no need to cut out all the graphics--I can envision an animated style (like the console version's intro vid) much like Elite Beat Agents. Anyway, I'm excited to hear more, and I hope some more folks actually stay on topic rather than whining about how the PS2/XB360/Wii/PS3 != DS. We know already, get over it.

It's a whole new world for Final Fantasy IV

Aug 24th 2007 11:23AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I, too, am hoping that Square does this treatment for Final Fantasy VI... it won't be for another few years, most likely, but it'd be probably the most epic FF remake to date.

Ecoris or Ecolis -- either way, the online is multiplayer

For a second I thought that said "Consider yourself a nerd." HERO is rather close to NERD in pixel text ;o

Mod-proof Wii systems to be released in Japan

May 27th 2007 9:45AM (Joystiq)
I'm surprised that Joystiq put this up without the proper rumor-checking. Before this whole debacle, they found that all the new Wiis in Japan had a particular solder point removed, rendering the WiiKey (the most popular chip) useless. Knowing that about the new boards, along with taking a good discerning look at the picture (it's obvious that solder has been applied to points that should be factory-clean, flux smears etc) you can safely say that this claim can't be fully substantiated.

Nintendo might be sending refurbished Wiis back like this but there's no proof of this happening at the manufacturing plants.

Dragon Quest IX ditches the Wi-Fi Connect?

May 11th 2007 2:48PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
To be honest, if they drop the Wi-Fi aspect, I'm sure this game alone would drive the homebrew scene to finish sgstair's DSTunnel homebrew concept.

Which would be great, not just for Dragon Quest, but for every other game we feel cheated about missing out on Wi-Fi with.

Bethesda "several years" into Fallout 3 development

Jan 26th 2007 3:23PM (Joystiq)
#roflcopter

Just a guestimate from watching how much Bethesda has learned about rpgs over the years :P

I hope, confidently, that it will be fun. Where my faith wanes a little is hoping that it'll be fun enough to get addicted to for months at a time (I still play Fallout 1 & 2), and that there'll be enough in the world to do.

I hope that they overhaul the Radiant AI engine to make the whole world a little more... parasitic? ;)
