How Microsoft might lead in market share
Jun 26th 2006 9:04AM (Joystiq)M$ will get the gamers, they're the only ones going for them.
Nintendo will pick-up the non-gamers, those that might be interested in games at least.
Sony, if Blu-Ray wins, will get the I-want-a-cheaper-Blu-Ray-player audience.
Paper Mario says, 'OMG the GameCube isn't dead yet!'
Jun 18th 2006 11:18PM (Joystiq)remember that when M$ launcheed thier console, everybody just kind of laughed and said "awww, that's cute" nobody really viewed it as a major cometitor (and I dare say it wouldn't be without Halo) However, "the box" has gained support and come to the point where people consider this a main stream console.
Consider Nintendo's state, their a market veteran, their consoles have been around for years and have a long standing name for good games. However, it is still debated (as is evident by these comments) whether or not Nintendo clearly came ahead this generation.
Basically, despite the fact that they may have sold less consoles, they have gained the audience neccesary to hold on to a signicant chunk of the market. So, a newcomer (a newcomer with giant cash funds I might add) gave a long standing veteran a run for it's money.
In the end, it comes down to Halo vs. Gamecube.

Apr 13th 2006 5:07PM (Joystiq)ok, that's just my ultra-paraphrase...
another thing: "look at what Nintendo's doing, no 32/64 bit on thiers..."

DS sales boosts Nintendo's profit target 27%
Apr 4th 2006 5:41PM (Joystiq)I think what would really turn the tide is if Nintendo offered an internet browser for the US, not just the Japanese. If they had this, not only could you browse the web with awesome touch screen capabilities, but you could also listen to music, stream videos, and other things the web offers (that is, if they include the ability)
This could basically take away the only advantage PSP currently has over DS: funtionality.
Lite's redign took away the advatage of "more stylish"
No Rare titles on Nintendo's Virtual Console?
Mar 27th 2006 10:52PM (Joystiq)The VC is suppossed to be made up of all the classics from every era of Nintendo. Rare basically was the N64 back in the day.
Man, this stinks. Rare would gain money, and since they are owned by M$, M$ would gain money too.
Maybe M$ is going to release Rare's classics on Live Arcade?

Mar 24th 2006 10:01AM (Joystiq)go here: http://forums.nintendo.com/nintendo/board/message?board.id=revolution&message.id=833871&view=by_date_ascending&page=1
it's a very good read and highly worth it.
However, I still do not believe that VR will be a reality for the Rev, maybe the console after it, but not the Rev.
With all that said, I kinda' haveto wonder who this guy thinks he is, SeriousGamer007?
