When the Persians first charge and the Spartans hold their ground. But we can't forget any scene featuring McNulty or the questionable gender of Xerxes.
@25 "Will you people just put a stop to your totalitarian government already?"
Um...you're hopefully using hyperbole to make a point but still...if we have a "totalitarian" government we wouldn't get much say in stopping it would we?
I bought Mario Kart 64 today. Me and my roommates will easily play enough of it for $10.
Yeah, I've got it on the PC, but four people crowded around the PC in my room is kinda difficult?
Yeah, it's on the Xbox too, but it stutters and has other emulation issues. Even if it's still pretty fun.
But this weekend, when the four Wavebirds are powered up, (and alcohol is helping us drive better!) the complete value of that $10 is going to be accessed.
I'd love for it to be online, and have graphic touch ups, but it's not like that couldn't be coming down the line. If it had those features it'd have been a definate no-brainer purchase.
Zelda, MP3 and GameCube compat (so I can buy classic GC titles for $5-10, like I already have with Metroid Prime, Wind Waker and Eternal Darkness) sold the console for me as a individual gamer. But Rayman and Wii Sports have logged, and similar titles probably will log just as much time played because of the group gaming.
I'll wait for X360 and PS3 when the libraries are there and they're cheaper. Because of the amount of time (and money) I have anymore, the Wii will provide more than enough fun, and "epic" titles (Zelda, Metroid, etc.) in the interm.
The X360 and PS3 are easily better pieces of hardware, and probably better consoles. But the Wii currently and in the near future (six months) has the titles I'd like to play, combined with the lower price point and the new fun factor. It's not about buying the BEST console with the MOST features, it's about getting the console that has the games you want to play.
And today, $10 got me a game I, and my friends, would like to play.
