Video: Pocket Pain Doctor is the worst iPhone app. Ever.
Aug 26th 2009 7:36PM (Engadget Mobile)"I think it helps. I wasn't sure but now after using it for a few days I can tell it helps..." Sound real confident there, don't we par'ner?
"...It really makes me fell better right away. maybe it's a placebo thing, but it really seems t work for me." Rest assured, it's a placebo. LCDs cure nothing. If anything, it'll hurt your eyesight when viewed in the dark.
"...I used it on an 8 hour drive back to school that usually makes me start falling asleep." You used this while driving? Hopefully not in California...
Worth mentioning, all of those "clinical" studies are general references and don't specifically refer to this app.

Jun 30th 2006 3:13AM (Joystiq Xbox)So, why would I, or anyone for that matter, buy less than one-sixth the value for one-sixth the price? Because they are either bored or they don't want to be left out. From a mathematical standpoint, the new COD 2 maps are an imbalanced purchase that screams unfair to the low wage worker.
800 pts for 5 maps.. that translates into ten bucks. Ten bucks is about one sixth the original price of COD 2. Yet it doesn't have one sixth the gameplay value. Yes the maps are new, providing "interesting" new opportunities on COD2 to wipe out whiney 13 year olds (notice that I used the qualifier "whiney." I know that there are a few admirable 13 yrs olds out there), but what's really new? There isn't a new single player campaign. There aren't any new weapons. No new gameplay types. Heck, from what I have noticed of these new maps is that they are slightly changed reshashes of the single player maps.
Now, I know i am going to hear fanboys say, "well, no one says you have to buy it." True. I am simply pointing out from a logical, mathematical stance that you are getting screwed. If you still don't mind plunking down 10 big ones instead of putting it towards Gears of War or the next big shooter, be my guest. Settle for the lower quality here and now instead of the upper-class game of the future (which ironically , will probably follow in past predecessors' footsteps of releasing underrated, overhyped content for your hard-earned bank bucks).
In the end, only we, the consumer, are able to decide whether this new map pack is worth ten dollars, 20 Del Taco tacos, or 200 minutes of boring work time.
My advice: Let's think big picture. If you live at home, loan that ten dollars to your parents on 15% interest. Then, when Gears of War rolls around, you will have enough for its snazzy new map pack.
So do I get a star? ;)
Now let the flames begin...
