Ask Engadget: Best geotagging camera or solution?

Dec 11th 2009 11:28AM (Engadget)
I haven't tried this yet, but here's what I plan to do on my next photo outing.

I have a BB9700 with GPS. I've installed BBTracker - a small, lightweight app that records GPS positions to KML (Google Earth) or GPX data files. Once I export that data to my computer, I'm going to use Microsoft's Pro Photo Tools 2 to write the GPS data to my camera's RAW files. This should also work for JPEG files.

It's not the cleanest and easiest solution, but it makes do with the tech I already own, freeing money up for other stuff I want / need to buy.

@jon.athan: Yes, almost to the day. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BlackBerry_Bold The iPhone only is perceived to be of more value when released annually because they do a better job at hyping the event, hyping the device, and hyping the features.

iMac line updated with 16:9 displays, quad-core Core i5 / i7 model

The question really should be why would anyone want a 27" monitor that is also a computer? It's okay to swap in a 22" monitor if your 22" iMac kicks the dust (or becomes obsolete), but a 27" is still pretty expensive to replace.

Apple gives Mac mini a spec bump, adds dual-HDD Mac mini server

If someone wants to run a server which I'm guessing wouldn't be out in plain sight, why would they want such a small enclosure with small hard drives for that price? I'd get a slightly bigger case with better ventilation, bigger hard drives, and still have money to spare. Oh yeah, OS X...

If you're 80km from the border, just drive for an hour and pick one up. It's really not that far.

Sony adopts Chrome as default browser for VAIO line

It's not always more tabs but the amount of time a tab was open for. I used to use Firefox and browse on maybe 3-5 tabs, but I'd have the same process running for my entire session. That one process would eventually bloat to 300MB and even though I've got 4GB RAM installed with 50%+ still free, Firefox would just become sluggish and useless.
