Joyswag: The Dishwasher Dead Samurai [update]

Apr 3rd 2009 11:23AM (Joystiq Xbox)
Good soap, a good soak, and the right tools (e.g. brillo pad, cloth, scrub pad, etc.)

HD South Park now available on Video Marketplace

I'm tired of the US getting all the good XBLM content, I say we should go on strike! I wouldn't mind some gumballs and Bennigan's coupons anyway.

Joyswag: Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack

Feb 23rd 2009 3:47PM (Joystiq)
Easily Sandbox since it introduces some genuinely new and interesting gameplay and will be a very interesting map to use with Forge to create unqiue maps and scenarios.

Capcom announces Lost Planet 2 [update]

Feb 23rd 2009 11:23AM (Joystiq)
If they drop the constantly draining energy I'd be interested. It didn't botherme in MP but in SP I don't like to play games that basically always have you on a clock like Pikmin, Dead Rising or Lost Planet.

Joystiq interview: Scribblenauts' Jeremiah Slaczka

I've been looking forward to this one for awhile, I hope that it isn't too short.

Joystiq Review: Halo Wars

Feb 20th 2009 7:02PM (Joystiq)
I was involved in the EndWar beta and played the full retail game and while I agree that the controller is not a more glamorous method of controlling your units it is more active and this is likely why it is also more entertaining for many people than voice controls.

Mass Effect 2 teaser suggests grim fate of Shepard & co.

Feb 20th 2009 6:48PM (Joystiq)
Actually John they have stated on a number of occasions that you would be able to trasnfer your character, stats, looks, story choices, etc. into Mass Effect 2. This trailer throws that into question and I wonder if they didn't just scaleback or eliminate this highly touted feature.

Joystiq Review: Halo Wars

You are alone, EndWar is terrible. Even though they did an excellent job with translating your voice into actions, it turns out that a fully voice controlled RTS is just plain boring.

Joystiq Review: Halo Wars

Feb 20th 2009 10:35AM (Joystiq)
I have to disagree with Xav, while I've played RTSs both ridiculously complex and simple I did not feel that this game was missing anything. Sure, the focus was moved away from base building and the tech tree but it was focused on micromanagement of your forces. I see this as an appropriate and welcome change for a Halo console RTS and probably the best solution that Ensemble could have offered for this particular Halo game.

Ask Joystiq Xbox: Wireless woes edition

Feb 17th 2009 8:16PM (Joystiq Xbox)
See this is what happens when you have people pipe up who know nothing about networking. Properly configured (as it not by a complete novice/idiot) wireless G and above is on average just as good as being directly connected through ethernet unless you have a ridiculous internet connection that.

For example, most people think that since they have their multiple Gigabit per second cabling that they are getting big advantages when in fact it has virtually no effect. Unless you've got some sort of god-like internet connection the only thing that that cable is going to help is transferring data from the Xbox to the Computer/modem, the internet is the limiting factor.
