'Party Down' DVD Giveaway

Jun 5th 2010 11:45AM (AOL TV)
The show is just so...sharp. It makes the whole endeavor look really easy. I love that each episode takes us into a different little world, complete with hilarious guest stars.

Michael Cera and Scott Pilgrim Power Up

Apr 9th 2008 5:28PM (Cinematical)
Michael Cera is playing Scott Pilgrim? That's awesome! I actually don't know much about the Scott Pilgrim books, but I've heard they're great, and I've flipped through the first and loved the "Rating: AWESOME" joke, which I now want to steal and use in everything ever.

Michael Cera and Edgar Wright? Nice.

The Geek Beat: Relax, Don't Do It

Apr 9th 2008 5:18PM (Cinematical)
I really liked this post. I don't know that I have anything to say, but I felt like I had to say that because I clicked over here from IMDb thinking the post would be about something else (and then I saw the Doctor Who Motivator and thought it would be about something else), but then it didn't seem to be about "contemplating the pitfalls of excessive fandom," so I wasn't going to read it, except...I couldn't stop reading. I found the post very enjoyable, and a good read! I'm a Watchmen fan as well, and I'm hoping the movie is great; the fact that Zack Snyder clearly worships the source material is comforting (although, man, I was really looking forward to the Aronofsky version).

Finally, I have to admit to some embarrassment: I assumed you were a man until I read the comments. Which is horrendously stupid because I have lots of female geek friends who love comics. But it's still weird to have made that assumption, I suppose because it's so widely held it seeped into me by osmosis. So: thumbs up, geek girls forever!

Guitar Hero makes cameo in Veronica Mars

Oct 19th 2006 12:45PM (Joystiq)
Rob Thomas and the writers are big *Guitar Hero* fans. As other commenters have mentioned, video games have shown up numerous times on the show, and they're always portrayed authentically as opposed to just some images with bleeps and bloops. I really appreciate it.

Veronica Mars: Rat Saw God

Nov 10th 2005 10:28AM (AOL TV)
It was a rat, hence the title, which is also a riff on Rob Thomas's first novel, Rats Saw God. It was clearly responsible for the smell that got the 09ers off the bus, but other than that, its purpose is a mystery. Perhaps a symbolic warning.

Veronica Mars, season one comments: Part Three

Aug 19th 2005 5:59PM (AOL TV)
Oh man. If you thought "Silence of the Lamb" was the most emotional episode...you ain't seen nothing yet. That's all I'm saying. Also, hee. You are picking some of the best lines.

Veronica Mars, season one comments: Part Two

Aug 2nd 2005 3:10PM (AOL TV)
Glad to see you're enjoying the show! Just a word of warning: the next episode, "Silence of the Lamb" was supposed to air before AEFC (but the Christmas episode had to air around, you know, Christmas). So don't be surprised when your questions aren't answered. They'll be answered in "Clash of the Tritons." Which will provoke many more questions, I'm sure.
