I was looking at this thinking "yea this looks funny but it's not THAT funny" but then upon further inspection of the entire label (and you have to be able to read and understand the Japanese writing), it's a very clever play on words that blends irony and sarcasm (which is a rare trait in the Japanese people)!

The writing just under Kutaragi's face says SIXAXIS and to the right of it says "Emmy award winner", which of course refers to Sony announcing that they had been awarded some coveted award from the Technology and Engineering Emmy Awards for their sixaxis controller.
We all know that Sony later retracted their statement when the Emmy people said "uh-uh" and said the award was for their previous dual shock controller.

Now the green label underneath all that says "Over 1 million (PS3) units shipped" and under that it says "but the sauce is Sony".
This in itself is not so funny but it is when you consider that "sauce" in Japanese is pronounced "so-su".
So-su is Sony → Source is Sony.
So the punchline is "there's over 1 million PS3s shipped but the same company that claimed winning an Emmy for their Sixaxis controller is the source of this figure".

I know explaining it kills the humour...
