TERA website updates with Elin lore, video

@blackcat7k The races aren't at war with each other. They are constantly finding new enemies as they go. So the lore can pretty much change as it goes freely.

Aion Europe going F2P on February 28th

@Ratham Ya reaching level 22 in Tera taking 8hrs is just sooo grindy for a first time player. You can reach max level with ease in TERA. People are just pampered with WoW because it's been on so long and the early levels don't mean squat. So if taking less than 2 weeks to reach level 58 in TERA is considered a grind then people need to quit MMOing because they ruined the genre.

Rumor: Blizzard embracing F2P for unannounced game

@Joaquin Crowe It works quite well in LOTR.

But if the rumor is to be true later then I bet you Blizzard will be pro at taking your money knowing just what to make you have to pay for.

@Gaugamela I agree with you there. No way do I want to be nickel and dimed out of content. I rather they do a paid subscription with benefits that non-subscription people can't get or obtain unless they want to spend real money for like half the cost of a subscription.

Blizzard tells Diablo III fans to lower their expectations

He makes a fair point. We tend to put too much hype into sequels of some games that haven't been continued in awhile. We expect it to be the greatest thing ever made, but then after we get into it we realize there isn't so much mind-blowing as we'd have liked.

How many games have you had so much hype over thinking it's going to be the greatest thing made and then turns out to let you down? I know Aion fit that for me perfectly.

Bravo to ArenaNet. I haven't seen this done with any other MMO. Great step forward for our convenience.

Leaderboard: Leveling vs. endgame

@(Unverified) They raise the caps so in a way people feel like they are getting stronger. If we just stayed the same level and got gear almost equal to what last expansion is/was then it probably isn't worth the effort to get the new gear.

Leaderboard: Leveling vs. endgame

It's a tricky question. If the game is new then I would say the leveling/journey is better, but if you are talking about how far along WoW is then it's the endgame. So I guess new releases are for the journey to me and old games that are now huge would be endgame.

Massively's Guild Wars 2 closed beta impressions

Feb 20th 2012 11:04AM (Massively)
@Lenn In a small way an impression is a review. If someone impresses you then you checked them over.

Anyways the impressions do a nice job of detailing the areas they listed. Playing the game is the true review for a gamer. I think majority of people need that hands-on game play to see if the game is their cup of tea.

Overall solid impressions and you guys should be used for more MMO impressions.
