Video: Xbox 360 Games on Demand service

Jun 8th 2009 5:48PM (Joystiq)
How did your 20GB HDD become useless? Did it lock up? Did you drop it off a 54 story building? You mention no complaints about your 360 RROD or giving an E74, so I take it you have had a 360 since November 2005 and your only problems have been that the Hard Drive is upgradeable, but in a controlled environment, and your stupidity when it comes to networking so that you actually bought $100 Wireless Adapter.

Not to start anything more than this is, I like the PS3 as well as the 360, although how does having a built in 802.11b/g WiFi adapter future proof anything? How does such a small amount of video RAM future proof it? Or on the XBOX 360, how could a DVD drive future proof that system?

Nothing is "Future Proof." Last time I checked, the PS3 uses mechanical parts, like to spin the disc and a Hard Disk Drive, not solid state. Mechanical things eventually wear out. It can only be future proof if the owner plays it once, to make sure it works, and then puts it away safely and never uses it again.. or only uses the system a few times a year. That will make it last longer, one would hope, but where's the fun in using a game console 3 or 4 times a year?

VC in Brief: Life Force (NES)

Gradius Clone? As if. Although one could call Gradius V a Life Force Clone. Oh, also, Life Force and Salamander are not the same thing, at least not on the NES & FamiCom (or PC Engine). Similar, yes, but not the same.

Worst parents in the world punk kid into thinking he got an Xbox 360

Mar 8th 2008 8:54PM (Engadget)
If this was faked, then that kid's one hell of an actor.

Christmas is like the one time a year we all try to get along with our family, the one time there is hope against hope that maybe good shit really happens. So what did these people do to the kid? they made a joke out of him. the kid was in shock. not just cos there was no XBOX 360 in the box, but that his own flesh and blood would stoop so low as to make a mockery of him for their enjoyment. That kid will never trust his parents again. What you see in his eyes is innocence lost. Sure, we all lose it at sometime, but from your own family, on camera, then on YOU TUBE?

That's just wrong. No,it's criminal. I remember back in 1988 when I got the NES Action Set for Christmas, how I felt when unwrapping that.. if it was stuffed with clothes, and I was on camera being mocked like that... I'd lose it. There would be blood. Lots of it.

Silent Hill Origins confirmed for PS2, world reels in shock

This is wonderful news, to those who think that the PSP is just a demo machine for the PS2. I just have to wonder when GoW for the PSP will come to the PS2?

Insomniac 'flattered' by Mario Galaxy concept

Dec 16th 2007 6:10PM (Joystiq)
I remember spherical worlds from either Sonic Adventure or Sonic Adventure 2 for the Dreamcast. One of those two games.. Oh, and then there was that boss fight in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (Super NES) that took place on a spherical world. Yeah, it was 2-D, but still spherical.

Stringer: PS3 games 'infinitely more fun' than Wii

Dec 16th 2007 6:04PM (Joystiq)
Maybe somebody already said it, but the true problem with the PS3, aside from not including Component Video cables and a headset, is that it does not include a Dual Shock 3 controller. SIXAXIS could have been the cherry on top, but the lack of rumble, from the start, is really the biggest flaw for the PS3. The second biggest problem is why the hell does it include a movie and not a game in the 40GB system? As a BD-ROM player one gets 5 BD-ROM movies free anyway, so why not come with a damn game? Put Ratchet & Clank Future in with the system.. who doesn't like a platformer/shooter game? With Spidey 3 it's like selling a car and instead of tires it just has flashy rims..

Hello Kitty 3 works great.

Sony added built in Wi-Fi and decided to make everybody pay for something that most people don't need.

Oh, and the crap about how will somebody go online with their console if the Computer is on the other side of the house is a lame question. How many people ever needed to run cable to a room for cable TV, or a telephone line, or maybe an AC outlet? I find it pretty easy to put a hole in the floor, run wires across the cellar (or crawlspace) ceiling and the drill another hole and presto! an Ethernet cable right where you need it. Works great for the home theater too. No more messy speaker wires everywhere.

Also, who says one has to buy the 360's wireless antenna thing? These days many 802.11b/g wireless routers can be used to send and receive from another wireless router, and they usually run around $50.

Just because Microsoft presents you with the $100 option, it doesn't mean it's your only option.

No fault, SEGA Superstars Tennis announced

Nov 5th 2007 5:52PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Virtua Tennis 3 with SEGA characters? This could be the greatest thing since Fighters Megamix.. or the worst thing since Sonic Shuffle.
