Wow that was a fast and strong response frrom Steam to D2D's enormous indie sale. I'm looking forward to more absurdly low priced bundles designed to garner attention.
They should just treat Left 4 Dead 2 like a standalone expansion. It can tell if you have the original game installed and if you do then you can play the original maps with the appropriate characters online with anyone else who also has Left 4 Dead 1.
That way not only will fans of the original be happy with carrying over their old content, but Valve can continue selling copies of the original as a map pack. It's a win-win situation.
I was worried about that too, but then I read in an interview that the Terran campaign will feature as many missions as the entire original game and feature full multiplayer with all three races. So really it doesn't seem like a bad deal.
But it won't be tasteful, and thats what we were hoping for. Bioware did a good job in Mass Effect of including a sexual scene without having it turn into 'lawl boobs.' Fan made nude mods never have that level of care.
Careful though Sub Pop didn't do all the songs for those artists. For example they only did a few tracks with Death Cab, Dinosaur Jr, and Modest Mouse so don't expect full studio albums from Sub Pop for everyone on that list.
There's extensive testing and evaluation of charts and Harmonix gets the final say on whether something goes online. Harmonix is trying to ensure that there becomes a job market for people who know how to use the tools and they want players to get the best charts.
If things go according to plan then some great charters will show up and then they will be hired by record labels to chart great songs that everyone loves. If anyone along the line doesn't like the chart (Record Label, Testers, Harmonix) then it doesn't happen.
There seems to be some good oversight here and I'm looking forward to great songs with great charts.
Unfortunately they don't have the studio albums for Dinosaaur Jr or Modest Mouse they just have a couple singles for each. If they had albums I would be very excited with you.
