I bet this game is fun, and I never played the PSP version, but I gotta say the visual style of the 3DS iteration is one of the worst I've ever seen. It actually makes me feel weird and depressed when I look at it. Ok...maybe that's just me. Better call my therapist...
@MJD8000 I agree. That's the only reason jrpgs frustrate me. So many times they have been so very, very close to the holy grail of "great idea WITH great writing." FFVII comes to mind, VI too and many of the DQs, Chrono Trigger etc.
Well first of all lets be honest. The writing in general across the whole spectrum of gaming could stand to be raised by several bars. As far as JRPGs go, I dunno! I've always wondering why they were so cringe-worthy on that level. Sometimes the plot is actually cool too tho! I mean it's not the fantasy/sci-fi craziness. That can be done and be done well and make your jaw hit the floor. Knowing wink or not. LOTR has no knowing wink whatsoever and the storyline is as ridiculous(but cool) as any jrpg. I dunno! I just think more money needs to be thrown at the writing on the Japan end and a lot more thrown at the localizers on the Western end.
So does this mean Zelda and Uncharted aren't on the list at all? I mean, I more than understand how both could slip to late in the list but to not be on it at all? Kind of odd in my ridiculous opinion..
@myTmorphinJesse1 I may be able to feel you a bit on the Wii, since that is the system carnival games came out on(which they didn't publish), but this a thread about the 3DS which has no minigame collections at last check. I dunno. I'm having a fantastic time with the system lately.
@mrantimatter Oh I can't disagree that it was a particularly underwhelming launch, but so was the DS. Yoshi Touch and Go as a full priced game? Yikes. I just think everywhere across the Internet, not just here, and in board rooms in Japan, people went particularly trigger happy and forgot that Nintendo has been here before, over and over again.
The DS took a full redesign and a complete readjustment as to what market it was looking for in order to pick up steam.
also, yeah, Vita will probably be fine. Us console gamers should stick together or one day, very soon, we'll look up and won't be able to push a game pad or buttons because there won't be any to push. We will, however, be able to slide a booger monster into some pyramids over and over or something.
(Mostly kidding. I like jetpack joyride as much as the next guy.
