Joystiq poll: Waiting for E3

Apr 21st 2006 1:43PM (Joystiq)
whats wrong with offering a poll? It isn't geared towards any one system. If you don't care about the Rev, then don't vote for it.

Also, Sony has had the spotlight for two generations now. Why can't someone other than them wrestle it away? I happen to feel that interest in Rev is here for many reasons, one being the controller. Another could be that many people do get tired of the same ol' same ol', and are looking for something with promise. Nintendo with their "revolution" holds much promise.

Whine about this site being pro-Nintendo if you must. But you have the ability to affect the outcome of this poll. I for one voted for Nintendo.

March NPD Sales Chart reveals rampant heroine addiction

I believe these are based on money from sales. And if so, then considering that DS games cost nearly half of what 360 games cost, MPH and SPP sold pretty dang well.

Ed Boon on Revolution controller

This is just the type of response I would expect from a western developer.

This guy is so devoid of new ideas, that apparently all he can muster is a new Mortal Kombat title. If he can't think of anything, then he doesn't deserve the chance to try.

There are boards flooded with ideas from ordinary people, and this jerk can't come with anything!? Oh My God, theres no buttons!!!!!! What the hell do we do!!!!

Fuck-off Boon!

Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter - the fastest selling UK Xbox 360 title

Maybe it wasn't Hi-Def anything! Maybe it was gamers wanting a new fucking game for their fucking war machine!

If I paid that much for something, I'd be soaking up damn near anything that came out!

Fuck you!

Nintendo Revolution prediction: second console of choice

Regardless if he's biased or not. You as well as others know that the X-box has some other good games. However, that still doesn't take away from the fact that the Rev is being positioned as an "and" machine.

This is a new strategy for console makers, and one that is probably going to pay off for Nintendo.

I have nothing against MS or Sony. There are enough games on both of those systems to justify a purchase. I will only be getting a Rev. But my friends and brother will definitely be getting a Rev and something else.

This isn't a threat to MS or Sony. They are only a threat to each other. Nintendo hopes to offer an alternitive to the status quo, that's all. Besides, who cares if some Joe Blow says something you don't like. These strategies have been in place for quite some time and they'll likely not change.

Buy what you want. But also note that there is something brand spankin new coming, and it is right around the corner. It will be offered to you at a low price and it'll be up to you to try it or not. It's that simple

Mine will be #1.

All else is #2 or lower.

Can't attract teenage boys (to your games)? Try Oprah.

Laughing Man, use your brain. If you've been following Nintendos strategy for the last year or so then you'll soon realize that they aren't just interested in people like you. They hope to expand the market, and targeting the audience that watches Oprah is part of that plan. The decision to zero in on Oprah isn't as haphazard as you depict it to be.

A year ago everyone was laughing at Nintendo for being "out of touch" with gamers with their "puppy game" and now, the DS is owning the PSP. The audience that helped to lead the charge was girls and Nintendo saw boatloads of money pour in as well.

There is still going to be plenty of males buying Rev's and DS's by the ton, but Nintendo just might have women of many ages deciding they'll join in too. That is something Sony and Microsoft won't have.
