Just say no to pushy game retailers

Aug 30th 2006 8:56PM (Joystiq)
It can get weird in the GameStop I sometimes shop at, because they recognize you and know your name and say hi when I walk in the store, but they still have to try to sell stuff to me. When I'm going to a game store, I more often know what I want. It's not like a record store or something.

Yes, I did buy the used game card or whatever, mainly for the subscription. And weird enough, I actually had to ask to buy it. I would have paid $500 for that freaking card if they would just let me buy a game, sealed. I don't even want to talk about what they called a "new" copy of Dragon Quest VIII.

Strategy guides make gaming more difficult?

What's weird is that I buy them after I've completed the game, so I can see anything I missed or would be cool. Also, if it looks rare: ie Killer7 or FFTA. Also, RPGs are sometimes one's I like to have, if only for reference.

New Justice For All interview, and the single greatest accessory of all time

Jul 18th 2006 5:14PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I'm not going to lie, but I think it's pretty sad that DS Fanboy considers "Phoenix Wright: Justice For All...probably the most anticipated game for the collective DS Fanboy staff" when it's well known knowledge that this shipped with certain preorders for the first game. I'm also pretty certain those preorders came with the soundtrack, as well.

Nintendo got smoked in terms of consoles sold and overall mindshare, but in terms of profitablity, you know, the hallmark of a successful business? Nintendo was the one smoking the rest.

Fanboys to PSP: We still love you

Apr 4th 2006 9:56AM (Joystiq Playstation)
I'm sorry, is this a joke of some kind? Three titles of dubious quality aren't going to unseat the DS as the far superior gaming machine. There's a reason why I'm only the second comment here: nobody cares about the PSP, much less about a site dedicated to it.
