For those that don't know, this game has no affiliation with the HBO show. The game has been in development since before HBO announced there would be a GoT show. The developers licensed the rights to the book from the author. And its not a RPG it is an RTS.
@iHavePants I had always envisioned the architecture of Westeros like you mentioned, dirty Mid-evil-ish. However I think GRR Martin had something different in mind, because if you look at the newly released screenshots from the upcoming TV show (which Martin is Executive Producing), the architecture seems much more high-fantasy than I thought it would. @TheDarkWayne Yes, they have said the game covers the time period of Aegon the Conqueror.
NPDs figures have NEVER been accurate. As of 2008 (couldn't find any data more recent) Wal-Mart sold more games than any other retailer in the US -- and Wal-Mart has NEVER given any sales data to NPD. So how can NPDs numbers be even remotely accurate when they don't contain sales from the number 1 video game retailer in the country? NPD's numbers are just a useless as the Nielsen ratings are.
I'm no fan of Activision, but I think at least some of the blame here needs to go to Bizarre, specifically those who previously owned the company. No one put a gun to their head and told them they had to sell their company to Activision. They traded a fat payday for control of their company. It was a gamble and they lost.
Sony said the same thing, and look at everything you can do with the PSP now. Anyway, the purpose of that software is not for pirating games, its for uploading/downloading 360 game saves from the net and copying them to your 360 HDD.
