WiiGator Backup Launcher released, makes chipless GameCube backups on Wii a reality
Feb 9th 2009 9:52AM (Engadget)RunCore's 1.8-inch netbook SSDs now shipping, 2.5-inch 256GB edition coming soon

Rogers caves on iPhone 3G plans, offers up 6GB for $30 a month
Jul 9th 2008 4:21PM (Engadget)prices for the iPhone :
8 Gb iPhone : $826 (€ 525)
16 Gb iPhone : $968 (€ 615)
2 year contracts for the iPhone :
$47 (€30) for 200Mb of data, 3 hours calling or 300 text messages.
$70 (€45) for 500Mb data, 6 hours calling or 600 text messages.
$94 (€60) for 1Gb data, 9 hours calling or 900 text messages.
So a 16 Gb iPhone for 2 years with the cheapest plan would set you back $2102 (€ 1335).
I'm pretty sure Belgium has the shittiest prices worldwide! But because we're a small country, nothing about this shows up on the web outside Belgium.
200Mb/ month for €30, that's just plain stupid. I was gonna buy one, but I'm not, prices are far to steep !
Orange lands broad iPhone distro deal too
May 16th 2008 10:03AM (Engadget)I'm not sure what the situation here in Belgium will be, as it is forbidden by law to simlock. Selling phones with a contract attached is also forbidden. Let alone selling a phone with a discount if you take a contract.
My bet is the iPhone in Belgium will be simlock free, but more expensive. And Orange (Mobistar), will be the only carrier to implement all the necessary stuff for the iPhone to work (cf. Visual Voicemail,...)

Dec 29th 2006 1:09PM (Engadget)Xbox Live Aracade to get Settlers of Catan & other Euro board games
Aug 23rd 2006 4:25PM (Joystiq)I for one am thrilled with this news. It's a shame large amounts of people still aren't aware of the great boardgames that are out there. These so called "euro"-games often don't show up on the shelves of big retailers, but they are easily 100 times more engaging and fun than anything Hasbro/MB/Parker throwed on the market -ever-. I hope this will be a gateway to bring more people to the hobby.
For people even remotely interested in boardgames I strongly advise a visit to http://www.boardgamegeek.com
When did you teach your kid to swim?
Feb 12th 2006 5:21PM (ParentDish)Recently I read an article about some findings from a local university. It stated that chlorine used to keep the swimming pools clean, can seriously damage the lungs of babies and young children. Especially around the age of 5-6 months, when the lungs are developing further. They investigated close to 500 children aged 8-14. Those who were exposed to swimming pools as a baby had twice as much astma as those who weren't. This news upset me a lot, especially since my brother in law frequently goes swimming with his 5 year old daughter and 2 year old son.
