Is it me, or does that front end look like the Ferrari 360 Modena? Maybe not cut-and-paste, but some of the lines are similar.

I love racing, so I made the mistake of preordering GT Pro Series for the Wii at launch. Ive been hoping for a quality sim racer like Forza, GT, or Pro Race Driver (which is coming to DS!) to come to the Wii, and I hope that they make more like Indianapolis Legends. However, the article I read on Indy said that the build that they played didn't have sound, but that the finished product was coming out in a few weeks. This really makes me fear for the production values of this game, and it bothers me that the success of this game will help to determine the viability of the genre on the Wii. Personally, I prefer the more realistic racers to something more arcadey, because I love a racing game that I can really sink my teeth into. I hope that in any future sims, the developers take their time and polish the game thoroughly, because overall feel can make or break a racing game.

I don't think he was slamming Canada as a country. I think he was just pointing out the fact that it's odd that the country, as an entity, has its own website. It would be like the United States having a website called USA.com or something like that. It's just unusual for a country to have an all-encompassing url representing it on the web, that's all.

Well, the DS seems to be maturing fairly well. There are a lot of meaty titles coming out for it, and it's already got a lot in its library. I don't think there's much to worry about there.

My concern is with the Wii. Aside from Nintendo itself, not many developers seem to be taking the Wii seriously as a hardcore gaming console. An article by the same author (Ishaan Sahdev) called "Why do Wii games look like crap?" really digs into the effort (or lack thereof) that's being put into a lot of the recent third-party Wii games. It's a good read. Check it out.

Personally, I'd like to see something like a TimeSplitters or a Forza Motorsport on the Wii. I think the system would work really well with those genres, but developers seem to be hesitating to put out games that take major resources to develop, like racing sims or polished shooters. Hopefully, this will change in the near future, once developers see that there's real substance to the Wii and that quick-and-dirty ports just don't work.

Yeah, I got "Blue Quantum Waves" and my girlfriend got "By Any Other Name" from DecalGirl. They look awesome, and they've held up amazingly well. Highly recommend her site and her product. Good stuff.

Shining Force 2! Heck, yeah! I was hoping for Smash TV, but with it being on XBLA, I wonder if we'll ever see it. Diddy Kong Racing was one of my favorites, too. I just wish the DS version had done more with the actual racing part of the game.

Yeah, Best Buy had them today, too. Same deal. Hold for the 27th. Some stores had over 100 in for today's ad. I'm a Media Specialist there, and I sold quite a few today. It's amazing that even now, so long after the console's initial release, that people are willing to wait in line to get in the store to get a Wii. Well, not so amazing, really. The system has enormous potential. Now if it can only capitalize on it...
