@DoctarPeppar It wins every time, except in court. :-P

Nintendo issues a 3DS release date date

@HateEveryBody Hey man, I have a job, a very well-paying job, and a price point north of $199 for a handheld is tough to swallow for anyone.

Using your example, of the original PSP, its sales were awful when it first debuted, partially because of the lack of games, and partially because it's price was ridiculous. As it got more games and the price dropped, its sales increased.

Enter PSP Go at $249. How are its sales doing? Yeah - exactly.

$199 is the magic number. Nintendo has shown it can move bajillions of consoles at this price and although the DS debuted at a cheaper price, its XL version has done fine at $189 (well, before the 3DS announcement).

@TareG Please get off the "no 3D = outdated in 2 years" train that you've included in at least 2 posts here. 3D is a gimmick, as shown by the abysmal sales of 3D TVs.

@annoyingposter3 yeah, funny how the designer is talking about people using it to make eye contact on a phone when all I thought was "that'd make a badass remote periscope!"

App review: SlingPlayer Mobile for Android

Jul 13th 2010 10:46AM (Engadget)
@krkeegan What bothers me is that I had an iPhone and bought the SlingPlayer for that. Now I switched to the Incredible and I have to buy it again? I mean, if it were $5 or $10, I probably would, but since I rarely used it on the iPhone, I'll just do without.

I respect that people can set the price for the software they write - and that they should be paid - but I just can't justify buying it a second time for that price, and that's a shame because it is a decent product.

Google's Larry Page says there's 'something wrong' if your Android phone's battery doesn't last all day

@Vincent Because with the HTC Incredible, I unplug it at 8 AM and it's at 35% by 2:00 PM. Making it to 7 (when I usually start thinking about heading home and would need to text gf or check stuff on the way) is a miracle if it happens.

Just got an extended battery today because the stock battery lasts about 8 hours.

Panasonic's 50-inch TX-P50VT20 plasma reviewed: 'The best 3D TV to date'

@TheLondonExchange Lately? Panasonics have rocked at plasma since, like 2004. It would take a mighty fine TV to make me consider anything other than Panasonic.

Twitter for Android: the best apps reviewed

May 6th 2010 8:16PM (Engadget)
@Cicatrize said "Making tweets is cool if you're 13 years old and want everyone to know everything you do. The only great thing about Twitter is its use as a news feed that's better than RSS"

Wrong. In 2007 I used it to tweet where I was when taking pictures on my trip around Europe and later synced up the time stamps on my pictures with where they were taken. We didn't always have GPS on our phones. :-P

Just because YOU can't see a use for it doesn't mean it has none.
