Spider-Man: Edge of Time review: Excelsibore!

Oct 5th 2011 4:45PM (Joystiq)
@sammo21:

vote me down if you choose to, I don't care. Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions was AWESOME! The dynamic of switching back and forth between different spidey's was great! I'm really looking forward to this follow-up, I'm just a little worried about the lack of Noire and Ultimate Spidey!

And for the record Spierman 2 is not "the core spiderman title", The Amazing Spiderman vs. The Kingpin on SegaCD was pure gaming bliss (if you're a true Spiderman comic fan).

Metareview: Duke Nukem Forever

@baby sea tuna: of course you're right because you're speaking in terms of undeniable fact and not personal opinion; oh wait... it was idiot critics (perhaps somewhat like you) who panned Lost Odyssey [and other great games] a few years ago and caused a whole lot of people to pass.

Don't for a second think that reviews don't have a massive effect on game sales. This isn't the 1980's when there was no Internet and people bought whatever looked good on the back of the box.

Wii U currently only supports one WiiPad

@Poor Tom: Oh, I thought that ridiculous looking tablet was there new console.

Hm... so let me get this straight.. there is only one usable "controller/tablet/iPad/whatever" with the new system? The other players will have to use Wiimotes?? Isn't that like the poor sap who has to use that crappy Mario Kart Wheel that doesn't work worth a damn and guarentees that you'll loose no matter what?

This is looking like a total fail....

@Enosoma: As if the Wii could actually render graphics from 1998.

@xFenixKnightx: Same here. Flipped to G4TV once a year for a week to watch 24/7 E3 coverage. I just learned this week that G4TV got dropped from DirecTV and I was going in a panic. How are you guys planning on watching the Press Conferences? I used to DVR them and watch em after work each day.

Rumor: Ocarina of Time 3D to see limited initial release

Apr 30th 2011 9:16PM (Joystiq)
@Hoops : Look, I'm not going to argue this point anymore. If you read my earlier posts then you are already aware that I concede the fact that OoT was a critical darling; there is no debating that. Unfortunately, I have a mind of my own and attributes that make me unique and one of those characteristics is being only marginally impressed by OoT when it was released. I have played it several times since then and I remain as marginally impressed with it now as I was with it then.

It's a good game; when judged by 1998 standards but no I do not PERSONALLY feel that it even remotely deserves any 'best game ever' descriptor.

This is not true of all older games; for example I feel that Super Metroid for Super Nintendo is vastly superior to OoT as is Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VII.

Its just my opinion.

Rumor: Ocarina of Time 3D to see limited initial release

@Victoryismine52: I'm not sure why everyone is burying my comments and projecting false assumptions on me. I find it absolutely astonishing that anyone would call Zelda OoT "the best game ever" but that's just my opinion. Given the tone of the comments towards my original post I'm finding it difficult to believe that any of you are actually old enough to have played OoT when it was released.

According to the masses, Avatar is "the best science fiction film ever" when in reality, it's just a (very poorly contrived) ripoff of Dances With Wolves [in space]. OoT is a great game in it's own right but it's certainly not worthy of a title as distinguished as 'Best Game Ever'

Rumor: Ocarina of Time 3D to see limited initial release

"Spirit Tracks is a pretty okay game, while Ocarina of Time is the best game ever made."

Really?? Best game ever made? Sure OoT was outstanding for its time but even back then it wasn't the best game ever made. It's the best Zelda game ever made maybe but not even close to best game ever made.

Redbox officially launching game rentals June 17
Goodbye Gamefly, it's been fun.
Umm.. no it hasn't. Gamefly is the biggest ripoff scam since the Madoff Ponzi scheme. You put 10 games in your queue and it takes 5 days to actually get a game. The one they send is always the oldest, crappiest game in your queue. Then you play it and the game usually sucks so you drop it back in the mail the same day you receive it. It takes another 3-5 days for them to mail another game and by the time you get that one its another 3-5 days.

You're lucky to get 2 games a month if you actually play a rental for a few days.

Netflix on the other hand...why or why can't you get into games? It takes Netflix 1 day to receive a returned movie and the next is in the mail the same day. Their turnaround is amazing and it spoiled me for life on mail rental services (they all suck in comparison)

Rumor: Nintendo courting Rockstar for Wii 2 development

Apr 19th 2011 7:32PM (Joystiq)
Nintendo has to catch up to the 6 year old X360 sometime. After all the Wii is just barely competitive with the 10 year old XBOX1 and PS2. I wouldn't be surprised to learn this rumour is actually Rockstar creating a port of GTA IV for the Wii 2.
