Future Spider-Man games to be developed by Beenox

@Rocket Raccoon

I could care less about critical reaction. I LOVED Shattered Dimensions and can't wait for more! It wasn't of the quality of Arkham Asylum but it was still extremely satisfying and FUN!

EA's Riccitiello: Wii could use price cut, support toward third parties

@deathscythe: Then you either don't own a X360/PS3 or you don't have them configured properly for HD because its similar to the difference between VHS and Bluray. I have a 32" LCD TV, a 55" Plasma TV, and an 8 ft 1080p projector screen and the Wii displays horribly (even with Component - 480p cables) on all of them in comparison to the other consoles. The edges are rough and distorted, the colors are washed and drab looking, and the widescreen setting appears to stretch the image to ambiguous porpotions.

I don't mean to imply that the Wii is a bad machine, just that its designed for that 19" standard definition TV that you bought back in 1992. When I played through Mario Galaxy 2 I really enjoyed myself, I just kept feeling ripped off by how much better the visuals (and the overall experience) could have been if Nintendo would just add 720p/1080p support.

EA's Riccitiello: Wii could use price cut, support toward third parties

Since there is a proliferation of Wii love on the comments I feel the desire to chime in. I also waited in line at launch for a Wii and it was a neat toy for a few months however I just couldn't get over how terrible the games looked on my HDTV and how the triple A titles paled in comparison to lesser titles on the other two systems.

I sold my Wii a year later. Then Super Mario Galaxy 2 came out a few years later and I bought the Wii a second time! The wii was even less impressive the second time around and I sold it again.

I can safely say that I won't be buying another Wii and Nintendo better come correct the next generation or I'm through with them.

Namco moving development to Japan in light of 'lacking' overseas developer performance

Dec 16th 2010 10:10AM (Joystiq)
@Mr Khan The Japanese made games that people liked because they were the only ones making big budget games "back in the day" and it was a tiny geeky minority of people who played games back then. Just try to get someone under 30 to play turn-based RPGs (and other traditional Jap style games). Their eyes glaze over and they can't figure out the menus and such. The industry has evolved and Japan just hasn't been able to keep up.

VGA ratings fall for fourth year, but rise among younger and male viewers

@Exu: I really enjoyed them this year. The best VGAs so far

Uncharted 3: The very first behind the scenes video

Dec 12th 2010 9:27PM (Joystiq)
@vmenge You said it bro! Uncharted 1 suddenly becomes "Resident Evil" near the end where you're suddenly fighting zombies and constantly running out of ammo! Ugg.. then when you finally get past all that non-sense you get stuck at the end level which is probably the cheapest level ever! You have to kill the guys in the right order using the right timing or you die instantly!

Still a good game, but part 1 can't hold a candle to the masterpeice that is Uncharted 2!

Red Dead Redemption wins VGA 'Game of the Year'

@MarkezJM

Couldn't agree more. I haven't been this bored with a game since Fallout 3!

NFS: Hot Pursuit races to 400k in the US in November

@Anticrawl

Wow... you must have given up on Burnout Paradise early on (like a lot of people did) because the free roam mechanic was so different from anything we've ever seen in a car game. It's a shame because what Burnout Paradise did was no less than reinvent an entire genre of game!

After having played hundreds of games over the last 20 years, I have to say that Burnout Paradise is nearly immaculate. It's brilliance is just too radical for lots of consumers to recognize.

Circuit City blows its last fuse, all remaining stores to be liquidated

Jan 16th 2009 4:14PM (Joystiq)
Oh please, liquidations are more expensive than the original store sale prices. When CompUSA went under I was shocked to see the prices were higher than they were the week before the liquidation. It took months for games to drop below $39.99 and the games left over could be bought used online for $10 or so.
