It's not exactly what other manufacturers do. Look at the hard points and you'll see that they're all shared with the other Theta vehicles. It's not the reuse of the platform that bothers me, it's the fact that I looked at it and saw an Equinox right away. Not even the SRX resembles its lesser cousins that much.

The new 9-5 is much better on that front. I still think it's too big and heavy and the proportions are a bit wrong, but I didn't see a LaCrosse immediately when I looked at it.

Wow, it's an Equinox. Yes, I know this is "Theta Premium" and the Equinox is "Theta", but the fundamental architecture can't be hidden, especially that C-pillar. I see this and all I can think of is the Trollblazer, which had a similar Chevy-with-a-Saab-grille thing going on.

So it isn't a M fighter and I doubt it is even a 335is fighter. It's a G37 with a bit of extra tuning to the engine and exhaust. If I was buying a G37 coupe, this is the one I'd buy. But it raises the question: why aren't all G37s this smooth?

Dig the new interior color.

It's a stretched Passat. The front clip is identical, but on the NMS there's glass or more likely black plastic (ala LaCrosse / 4G TL) aft of the rear doors, and the rear end is different (plate holder integrated into the trunk, etc.). My guess is that VWoA decided that us fat Americans need more rear leg room to consider the Passat and asked for a longer car.

I would add more Jason and slash the price $200.
